Hi apye!
I bought the Led Zeppelin untitled album, 2014 remaster as well.
What did you think of it?
I honestly couldn't notice any improvement over the one that I bought in about 1989.
The music is breathtakingly brilliant but the recording is over-processed & compressed.
A recommendation for some rip snorting, groovelicious Rolling Stones in concert:
Just released in November 2014, it sounds just like a live concert, which of course it is.
A brilliant album of a great band at their live best. This should get your feet tappin'
CD rip:-
ZZ Top - Degüello
Streaming | Spotify Premium @ 320kbps
Mark Knopfler - as a solo artist I have only in the past couple of years realised how good he is.

ZZ Top - Degüello
I have all their studio albums and some of their live ones. My one big regret as far as ZZ are concerned is never having got to see them live (yet)
McCoy Tyner - Nights of Ballads & Blues
Orig release: 1963. This release: 2011
Hybrid SACD
Purchased this a year ago (?) after seeing it posted in this thread. Very enjoyable jazz trio.
+1. Interesting contrast with his later recordings with John Coltrane.
Streaming on Spotify (CD purchase to follow shortly ).
Dave
Hi Dave,
Glad you are enjoying this. I didn't realize Tyner recorded with Coltrane. So much to learn.
Best regards,
Pat
Tyner was with Coltrane for "A Love Supreme" - IMO one of the greatest jazz records by one of the greatest groups. As well as Tyner and Coltrane, also features Jimmy Garrison on bass and an incendiary Elvin Jones on drums.
Regards,
Vlad
+1 for "A Love Supreme" but for those people who would like a gentler introduction to the classic Coltrane quartet:
Tracks: My Favourite Things/ Everytime We Say Goodbye/ Summertime/ But Not For Me
John Coltrane: tenor/soprano sax
McCoy Tyner: piano
Steve Davis: bass
Elvin Jones: drums
Rec: 1960
Altantic Records
Dave
Her latest, the triple LP version. While not breaking any new ground if you are a fan you shouldn't be disappointed.

I think that he is one of those that give their best live. Never had and probably will never have the chance to see him on stage but i can drink from youtube.
Vinyl - Brilliant production and musicianship Indian raja and jazz . Highly recommended.
On CD:-

My first listen and enjoying it alot, excellent SQ as far as I can tell at 320kbps. Another one for the "to buy list."

"First come first served". Excellent.

It's a hell of a job!
Michelle Shocked - The Texas Campfire Tapes
Streamed CD rip to FLAC
Miss Shell Shocked's first album, recorded on a Sony Walkman, quite possibly around a campfire somewhere in Texas.

Ouch I remember those days! Thank heavens for streaming and attic space.

I have this on CD along with a couple of her other albums. I think I probably prefer the simplicity of this album to the two studio albums, although they are pretty good as well.
A nice execution of Mozart, with like it looks like a bit more dynamics as usual for this music, I like it
Bob Dylan
"Time Out Of Mind" (1997)
On vinyl from 1990:
Andy Summers - "Charming snakes"
I remember buying this LP and being a little unsure about it. Not at all what I expected. A lot more 'Jazzy' than I liked at the time.
I do like it now, though. Worth a listen, but will probably need 2 or 3 spins before you start to appreciate it. Very nice SQ on vinyl, but haven't heard it on CD.
Because i'm going to bed.
Curtis Mayfield -Curtis - 1970
