What did you think of if BigH?

JELLO BIAFRA   WITH  NOMEANSNO

      -  The Sky Is Falling AND I WANT MY MOMMY -

"When are the superpowers going to learn

that they can't keep us in the dark?" asked Dr. Bischof.

"The public has a right to know -

even if it does cause world panic."

Alternative Tentacles tape cassette, from 1991.

Top notch punk/metal collobaration, first track is about satellites crashing back onto earth, govenrment control over the gene pool and the seething underbelly of society are also subject of some catchy frenetic tunes.

NUKLI  - BOOK OF CHANGES -  another tape, recorded in 1990,

think early Hawkwind, Ozric Tentacles, Tangle Edge, and you get the idea. Some very mellow deep bass guitar on this which I love - reminiscent of Floyds "Echoes". The first track "Inner Days" is the only lyrical one, and sounds very trippy, indeed. Side B is one track long and entirely instrumental - bass, lead guitar, and drums.

Prompted by the thread on best version of DSOTM. This is the 30th anniversary edition. A SACD/CD hybrid, the latter of which sounds very good to me.

Gianluigi,

one of my favourite discs EVER!

I still love it a lot, it still reminds me of great times in my youth. Great album.

This record is simply awesome. Cast an ear around and you'll find it anywhere.

Stupendo!

Haven't played this for quite a while.  Phenomenally good recording, the bass is stunning, as well as good music.

Interesting version - gently played...

On vinyl: Barclay James Harvest - "Victims of Circumstance"

An English band that has always been very underrated in the UK.

Who would imagine that a priceless 277 year old cello being dragged across the floor could be made to look this cool!

Not big, not clever, but the way of the World these days.

Bring back Pierre Fournier's gentlemanly and modest ways would be my wish with respect to the cello ...

Seeing Arlo there, and seeing what day it (still) is Stateside, I thought I'd have a listen to Alro's dad...

On original vinyl (Mono)

Happy Thanksgiving guys

As usual with JJ Cale it's the same as his other albums but doesn't seem to distract from that. They all seem excellent to me, so smooth and relaxing.

Joe,

That's not what I had in mind but, hey, Happy Thanksgiving!

This cover reminded me of pulling out the Alice's Restauarnt Original Motion picture soundtrack LP which came out in 1969.

Indeed, this is a timely background music for Thanks Giving Dinner.

I haven't listened to this since I have watched the film a long time ago and I fondly remember I enjoyed it. But now its lyrics sound terribly naive and dated.  The sound of the vinyl is just excellent however.
