On DVD, DD 5.1:

Fantastic all round video, with some great guests like Natalie Merchant revisiting tracks from the original Trinity Sessions album.. Even Ryan Adams sounds good performing the wonderful "200 more miles".
Great all round performance and SQ from a favourite band of mine.
"I've not seen the video, but much prefer the original "Sessions" performances to those on "Revisited". (Juliet Lewis dancing in the night-time desert to "Sweet Jane" in Natural Born Killers is an enduring associated memory)"
I have the original as well & it is fantastic (I have most of their albums & the original "Sessions" is one of my favourites), but this one is great as well. Beautifully filmed and recorded, so I'd recommend a look at the DVD if you ever get the chance.

As the first Advent weekend begins it's time to listen to something festive before heading out to sample the first Glühwein of the season

Jo Kerr
"Straight Lines" (2009)
CD rip AIFF, time for some Chris Rea, this album has one of the most moving tracks "Tell Me There's A Heaven" reflecting on child abuse.

Chris Rea - The Road To Hell

Joe Henry
"Trampoline" (1996)
The first Joe Henry release I every bought, now I have 11 releases. IMO one of the finest singer/songwriters around. Spends a lot of his time now as a producer.

The Aardvark self-titled album from 1970. A prog rock band that sadly only made the one record, this was re-mastered in 2011 from the original master tapes. Taking me back forty four years, doesn't time fly by!
On Viny: Vangelis - "Albedo"

Yep Ohio air show plane crash is a great track!

STEREOLAB the groop played "SPACE AGE BACHELOR PAD MUSIC -
on an increasingly vinyl sounding cds3.

When asked, Isang politely declined to drag his 294-year old cello across the floor - the cello being that much older than Gaillard's, and of course the tiled floor of the Teldex studio in Berlin a lot more damaging to the instrument than the polished white carpet at IRCAM, Paris.

EJ
On vinyl from 1974: "Maria Muldaur"

Including the wonderful "Midnight at the Oasis".

Jerry Joseph & the Jackmormons
"Happy Book" (2012)

Michael Stanley
"Eighteen Down" (2000)
On vinyl from the 70s: Man - "Be good to yourself at least once a day"

Haven't listened to this for over a decade - quite enjoying it!
Thoughtful and Well mens-uren quiet jazz.....Nice to relax

I am really unsure about this. But it is my first listen, and it may grow on me (I hope it does):

Good album Steve. I have the Japanese issue, unfortunately not the vinyl. No guitar riffs on this one.

Marillion - Marbles from 2004
Despite their fifteen or so million album sales I have always felt Marillion to be underrated. Their live performances, fantastic. These later Marillion albums had Steve Hogarth fronting from about 1989 after "Fish" left the band . Some folk didn't like the transition. I thought it worked just fine

No guitar riffs Steve. Like a few other bands around that time as you know had no acoustic or lead guitar as such
