Tangerine Dream - Rubycon
Many a night was spent listening to this in my younger years with headphones in a darkened room drifting off to another world. Still wonderful today.
David Crosby 'If Only I Could Remember My Name'. A bit like how I feel after a nice lunch with a couple of bottles of quality Rioja. 16/44 stream from Qobuz as I'm too bloody lazy to get my fat arse off the sofa to put the vinyl copy on the LP12. Sounds pretty good though.
Never get tired of this album, Steve.
I know you're heavily into streaming at the moment and if you need someone to look after your "poor" LP12 while you grow out of if, don't hesitate to give me a call.
I would hate the sight of it gathering dust in the corner, feeling unloved!
Tony
The demos from this album and the trax that weren't put on it should be released one day as they would make a fairly good album.
Thanks, Ewe,
Let's us know if that ever sees daylight. It's a beautiful album!
I love that album but it plunges me into a very melancholic state of mind. More than any other album in fact.
Brings back very vivid and painful memories - even after almost 40 years.
The proof that music IS powerful. My grandmother used to cry when she heard Danny Boy. I get pensive and depressed when I listen to this.
Sorry - needed to get that out there.
Have you considered therapy? Maybe it's YOU, not the album. Just kidding... seriously now, go see someone!
It's too cold to go out. In any case my only real friend (my Naim dealer) is closed.
I think I'll stay in and listen to some Philip Glass for a few hours instead.
That ought to help me snap out of this introspective mood.
Bach: The Art of Fugue
Yes. 90125. On vinyl from 1983. Mastered by Robert Ludwig, great SQ. My favorite Yes album.

Ahh, Philip. 5th symphony in particular 5 - Love and Joy is always a favourite to bring me out of the deepest and the darkest plunges of my soul. Failing that, either try a good pusher or hit a large measure or your favourite beverage. Get well soon!
Joe Walsh. You Bought It - You Name It. On vinyl from 1983. Plenty of funky sound on this one along with JWs usual excellent SQ.
Beatles. Please Please Me. On MFSL vinyl from 'The Collection' original pressing 1982. An entire album of 14 songs recorded in less than 13 hours. You can feel the energy.
On vinyl.
Cream [Box Set] Format: CD
On vinyl.
Nice. Been listening to Bob Mould's most recent solo albums & Sugar. I don't have this one, but will play something else from their catalog tomorrow.
best regards,
Pat
Crooked Still - Still Crooked
(2008)
Bluegrass. Good album to wind down the day.
'For the Roses' from Mike's Aging Baby Boomer stash.
I didn't even know this album existed. it was released *in between* the mega hits 'Blue' and her definitive 'Court and Spark'.
The original album came with a bound booklet with Joni's own drawing as well as a photograph of Joni in the buff.
Kuma,
Thank you for sharing.
Got any shots like that of Emmylou Harris from back in the day?
Grammy Award winning Corea's Akoustic Band album.
Featuring Dave Wackle for durms and John Patitucci for bass. I recall they were pupular in the 90s.
I love this album for their *stand up* version of Spain. The album is split with A side being all jazz standards by Gershwin, Porter, Coltrane, Ellington et all... then the B side is mostly Corea's own done up straight.
I originaly bought a CD but surprsied to find the vinyl release. The production value high typical of GRP (Great Record Period: aka Grusin Rosen Production )label polished and well presented. Vinyl does not disappoint. ( must be a higher resolution files they put on it )
This is a lot more mainstream than Corea's ECM efforts.

No Emmylou.
But got Linda by Leivobitz.
Kuma,
Thanks once again!
Hardly recognized her from that angle (of course, why would I) or without her roller skates .
young and dynamic jazz, worth a listen
On vinyl from 1971: Claire Hamill - "one house left standing"
I don't suppose many here will have heard of, let alone remember, Claire Hamill, but she was an up and coming singer/songwriter in the early 70s. This album is lovely with some very fine Claire Hamill penned songs like "When I was a child".
She seemed to sort of disappear from the scene, but I could never understand why!
A bit of research shows she is still recording, last album Oct'13 and still tours solo and with Yes tribute Fragile, has worked with Wishbone Ash too. I had heard of her but not sure whether I had heard any of her work.
