Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle
One of the great, greatest hits albums out there.

The neighbours are out so this excellent recording of a live performance can be properly enjoyed, though I don't think even my 250 can produce the sound pressure that I dimly remember from live Deep Purple concerts. My ears would feel properly assaulted for an hour or two after the gig!
One of a (huge) Vivaldi series on Naive. Very good indeed.

CD rip.

Over 20 years old and still going strong, my first and to date only recording of Nutcracker. Performance and recording are excellent.
Cheers,
EJ

Broken Bells
"Broken Bells" (2010)
James Mercer (The Shins) and Danger Mouse, electronic pop
Bach: Cantata #147, BWV 147, "Herz Und Mund Und Tat Und Leben"
Ruth Holton, Sytse Buwalda.; Pieter Jan Leusink: Netherlands Bach Society, Holland Boys' Choir
Bach Edition, Vol. 21 - Cantatas, Vol. 12 [Disc 1] from the most recent Brilliant release of the Complete Bach Edition.
Awesome music, in a superb performance in a very fine modern recording that catches both the detail and big picture in proportion.
The last chorus is known to English speakers as, "Jesu, joy of man's desiring."
ATB from George
Will be interesting to see how the Buckeyes fare without Barrett.
I thought it was Pink Floyd playing without him? ![]()
Good one!
Safe to say the Buckeyes vastly exceeded all expectations! The Sugar Bowl will be brimming with scarlet and crimson on New Year's Day.
CAPTAIN BEEFHEART - A CARROT IS AS CLOSE AS
A RABBIT GETS TO A DIAMOND -
a compilation of 'Ice Cream For Crow', 'Doc At The Radar Station', 'Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller), 'Blue Jeans And Moonbeams' and 'Unconditionallly Guaranteed' on Virgin Label c.d..

Evening Hymns
"Spectral Dusk" (2012)
An on-line site calls it indie-folk rock.

Thanks... I think
EJ

Neil Young - Sugar Mountain: Live At Canterbury House 1968
(2008)

Larry, you're a fortunate man! Should be a fun time in the Big Easy. I expect Bama to win it all, but will be wearing my scarlet for the game. Be sure to remember your earplugs.

Counting Crows. August And Everything After. On CD from 1993. Their first and I think most would agree best album.
'67 release Jazz Crusaders' Uh Huh. More hard core straight up jazz pre funk/Easy Listening transformation. Killer bass player.
- Bass – Charles "Buster" Williams
- Drums – "Stix" Hooper
- Piano – Joe Sample
- Saxophone [Tenor] – Wilton Felder
- Trombone – Wayne Henderson
This is a poor sounding Applause Records reissue vinyl but when mono button is engaged sounds much better.

Crusaders 1. '72 release 2 LP in a gatefold cover.
Engineered by Rik Pekkonen.
More funk elements thrown in but still gritty.
Contains Carol King cover 'So Far Away' and this groovy tune 'Sweet Revival' written by Joe Sample.
Future Islands
"On The Water" (2011)
Hi Jeff. What's this one like? I've really been enjoying their latest album 'singles'
Hi
That was my second listen to On The Water, and I enjoyed it again. Have not heard newest release so can't really comment. I first heard of them through a local music news journalist. I enjoy pop and variations on pop so have enjoyed knowing of Future Islands.

Thanks Jeff. i can recommend their latest album. Also check out their appearance on the Letterman show to see some classic dancing from the lead singer. It seems to have given them their 'big break' here's the link if it works... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ee4bfu_t3c if not just google future Islands on letterman.
Cheers
A bit Fine Young Cannibals... IMHO

During my workout this morning - one of these great e.s.t. albums, a pity one of them died...
