I bought the original in UK, just after it was released, it has the watercolor-able inner sleeve, and a few clicks and pops. Are you asking about a newer version? This is one of my very favorite Zep albums, the actual favorite, is the one I am listening to at the time!

Music on Vinyl x3

I have been wondering how the SQ on this compares with the CD version - does anyone have experience of both.

Thanks

Clive

Not me sorry however, the music on these three albums is superb and the SQ from a digital source is good. So would imagine the CD set will sound ok.

Thanks - in fact it's the other way round - I have the CDs and I agree about the music. I was wondering if the vinyl would be an improvement. The CDs have gone through something called the No-noise system to reduce tape hiss - and no doubt interfering with other elements of the sound quality. I might get in touch with MoV who do sometimes respond to queries of this sort.

The cd has had all the life taken out of it because of the use of No Noise. Now when were talking good sounding Animals comps. Get this one and it is dirt cheap.

Thanks for this suggestion - it looks a good compilation, but initially what I want is a good collection of the early stuff (i.e. Mickie Most produced). I have contacted MoV to see if they will tell me what the source is.

Hi Cbd, as I posted last week the info on the back cover states digital remasters (p) 1990 the vinyl Is mono and very flat the sq is also good in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Quad. That's the same date as the CD but what I really want to find out is whether the MoV files have the NoNoise software.

Just in case anyone else was interested in this thread. I heard back from MoV today and  they couldn't answer the specific question about NoNoise. The reply stated that 'We received and used high res audio files (96 KHZ / 24 BIT) of the original master' but that on NonNoise,  'Unfortunately we can’t trace back if that kind of software has been used'. Good customer service, I thought.

Hi Stu

Will watch for release dates on the album.  I suspect he will play a venue much larger than I would choose to attend but will watch for dates and locations before making the final decision.  Thanks for the info.
