Nice album & great SQ, followed by:

Also a 'nice' album and also pretty decent SQ.

From 1976 on vinyl: Bernie Leadon & Michael Georgiades - "Natural Progressions"

The first album released by Bernie Leadon after his acrimonious split from the Eagles. Bernie is one of 2 guitarists who shaped the Eagles sound (the other was Don Felder) and who were then both treated shabbily by a couple of fellow band members (or egomaniacs).

But then, Greg Leadon did apparently pour a glass of beer over Glen Frey's head before departing - nice one Bernie!

Good idea! It sounds pretty good at boring old CD quality too.

Can you recommend a good (i.e.: easy to understand) dvd audio-only ripper.  The few I have looked at completely confuse me before I can even actually start.

I have some music dvd I really enjoy but have little need to "watch" them repeatedly.  In the old days of cd-recorders I would do it direct from dvd to cd with track fades and all - tedious and took a while but I could do it.

No cd-recorder any longer and no success with audio-only rippers for dvd.

Thanks for any help.

I use Pazera Free Audio Extractor. It is very simple to use.

Inspired by a recent post by Gianluigi:

On vinyl from 1991: Chris Whitley - "Living with the Law"

I bought this not long after it came out in 1991. I haven't played it for ages, and I don't know why I didn't buy any more of his albums. This is really good blues rock in a sort of John Mellencamp style.

"Poison Girl" is a really great track!

I must check out some more of his stuff.

Hi-res stream from my NAS - Nina Simone - "Pastel Blues"

Only just picked this up to fill a gap in my collection. Believe it or not, this is my first Nina Simone album. It's absolutely stunning, and if the rest of her back-catalogue is anything like as good as this, I am in for an expensive time catching up.

Excellent Southern rock, The Mule were formed in the 90s as a side project by the guitarist and bassist from the Allman Brothers Band.

From Mike's Aging Baby Boomer stash.

I am familiar with many of these tunes covered on this album but nothing original as far as tune-smithin' is concerned. Bland and benign. All sound like 'it reminds of somebody else.

Kate Bush.

She was unlistenable then and unlistenable now.

The only record my mate pleaded me to take off a record player.

I wasn't heavily into Zappa's music and I only owned a few. First time listening to 'Apostrophe'. It is witty and funky.

What a delightful cute album this is !

Nilsson's Point contains my old time fave 'Me and my AROW'. This RCA Victor original pressing comes with large cartoon booklet and offers a good *analogue* sounding vinyl of the past.

Narrated by Ringo.
