I think the introduction to "Fracture" by King Crimson on Starless and Bible is the whole tone scale.

Edited to add the tab.

Thanks, I have that in my collection so will have to give it a serious listen. If I recall correctly, the song 'Red' is all diminished scales - but it works really well.

Even in the Quietest Moments… is the fifth album by progressive rock band Supertramp, released in April 1977

For the second time tonight.

Herb Alpert's 'Rise' was HUGE. Radio play everywhere back then.

Nostalgic air of Studio 54, rows of coke and Halston gowns.

Kuma,

You are putting me in the mood. Unfortunately, my LP was left behind in the holy land.

Al di Meola: Casino

Prog jazz meets Middle Eastern music.

Haim,

I've got a 12" single of RISE. omfg where's that bass come from!

it's a hoot via Briks.

After the release of Rhapsody in Blue, I think they went into the *ugly* 80s period.

'Sizzle and fry' digital sound with cheesy electronic accents.

I have been listening a lot to this one in the last two weeks in the car. It's good but doesn't reach the quality of some of the other Pain of Salvation albums. This is one in which the music sounds significantly better on a good hifi system (so in the home)

in high res, very enjoyable...

This is a great album - RVG Edition CD.

Interesting album, with a certain contemplative side to it

CD rip streamed from my NAS (FLAC): Peter Green Splinter Group - "Hot Foot Powder"

Tragically not a patch on the old Fleetwood Mac stuff, but still better than most!

Will require more run through a - has some interesting elements ......, but also quite conceptual...

Good nice quiet Jazz album

On vinyl from 1990: Aztec Camera - "Stray"

The 90s aren't my favourite musical era, but Aztec Camera are one of the bands from that time that I do like. Haven't played this for a while - excellent SQ from this original vinyl.
