Ozrric tentacles ~ Paper Monkeys
When it was released in 2011 it received some negative comments amongst the die hards but I think its very good.
Edit* To date (checking on Discogs) it remains their last new studio album although they did release another 4 live albums that year of concerts in Frome '97,. Manchester '92, Italy 2010 and Oslo 2010. In 2012 a further live album from Milan was released.
Let's hope there will be more new work to come.
Here's a 3-CD box of outtakes - the thing is, Can's offcuts have more ideas in them than most bands have in their entire careers.
What I love about this music is that it seems to spring from nowhere - it just bubbles up from some weird, fecund swamp, bursting with energy. It's also hugely open-ended (a bit like Miles' music from 1970-74) - there are no beginning and no ends, it's as if you are eavesdropping on some vast endless improvisation, rather than just listening to a mere "song" or "track".
I think I prefer June Tabor's Ashore as a set of sea based songs - interesting appearance from Inspector Lewis on Lowlands
Their penultimate studio album (to date) from 2009

I haven't heard this one yet but totally agree about how good a band they are.

"Twelve Moons"
(1993) mp3
On vinyl from 1974: The Strawbs - "Hero and Heroine"
Good folk/rock sounds from a bygone era
Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Balcony, reminds me of when I first heard U2 with War and Boy ,and early Oasis, different and exciting with loads of charisma, and fun to listen to. I can see these being huge, highely recommended pop/rock
Keith Jarrett
"The Cure"
(1990) mp3
with Jack DeJohnette - drums and Gary Peacock - bass
UFO - Headstone. Vinyl.
On CD:-
On vinyl from 1972: Cat Stevens - "Catch Bull at Four"
Cleaning a lot of my older LPs at the moment. This is the 5th of 5 Cat Stevens LPs I own - I don't have anything from his (limited) catalogue) post 1972.
His records still do pass the test of time.

Don't remember for sure. It would either have been from a local shop or, if online, it would have been Amazon. I am in the USA and just checked Amazon and they have it for sale currently. I ripped it to iTunes and the cd was put in storage.

Haven't played this Floyd album in a while. When ever I fancy a bit of Floyd I tend to go for the usual suspects. I can't say I don't like The Division Bell because I do. And yet.......I dunno. Somehow, something seems missing. Maybe it's just me.

Nice one Jeff, I think I'll join you.
Overkill I know, but I have it on CD, CD rip to FLAC, Hi Res 24 bit download and vinyl. I prefer the sound of the vinyl version to the others.
Small point, it was a 2013 release, which is just was well, it has been one of my most played albums of the year.
