E,

Is that the same US band that did the track SallyAnne in the 70s?

Yep. I actually saw them in concert.

I actually lived with SallyAnne

Erich, you must mean his complete cycle from the '60s? Those are great performances, which he himself did not improve upon when he re-recorded many of them in the '80s. I personally love his later, more considered, even ponderous  recordings, too - for Arrau's carefully considered readings, and the superlative sound that Philips gave him. Copies are hard to come by, but that's part of the fun.

I would try to find one of the Philips 1998(?) edition that was issued 24b a/d, that also incudes some concertos and a Rondo.

I understand that  Arrau was recording for Philips the complete set again but the project was not finished because of his death in the early 90s. I don't know if that set was published or not.

Regards.  Erich

P.S. Now enjoying CD1, Sonatas 1, 2 & 5

Big Brother & The Holding Company. Cheap Thrills. Original 360 sound stereo vinyl from 1968. In the mood for something energetic.

Paul Simon. One-Trick Pony. Warner Bros Canadian pressing from 1980. Because it's been a Long, Long Day.

Gov't Mule is the self-titled debut album of southern rock/jam band Gov't Mule

Posted on: 18 December 2014 by Haim Ronen

If I could only have one of their albums Being There would be my clear choice.

Because it would be his birthday, Great guitarist.

Cyndi Lauper. She's So Unusual. Original vinyl from 1983. Wikipedia cites both 22 million and 16 million for worldwide sales of this album. Hard to believe. I like it, just never realized it was that popular. ABC claims her career record sales exceed 30 million.

A bit a more edgy version of Schubert as I am used to, I guess a couple of more spins are needed to fully appreciate it

Great album.

I'm hoping my copy of this arrives before Christmas; The Mule covering Floyd amongst others; should be interesting.

I have been playing this since '69 when it first came out on vinyl, pure nostalgia.

Great album. Now I will be singing White Bird all evening.

+1 After a listen on spotify I had to have a copy... then found out the cheapest was something like sixty quid on Amazon!! In the end ordered a copy of Marrying Maiden from a supplier in Germany for less than a tenner.

Seen posted a couple of times, so got the old LP out for a spin and to support my sampling of an 18 yr. old Clynelish that just arrived by post (sun is over the yard arm somewhere...)

Arrived today: Paco de Lucia, 'Gold'

Always meant to go and see him ever since buying and being blown away by the 'Friday Night in San Francisco' album with John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola. Sadly I left it too late, but I shall enjoy listening to this.
