If you haven't already try this album of his. Personally I think it is his best.

Really enjoying this album the more I listen to it; very talented Manchester based jazz trio (piano, upright bass, drums).

Nirvana. 2002 CD compilation. Visceral, energetic, and loud, for sure, but also quite musically involving.

This is an excellent Speakers Corner reissue. Wish all my Evans vinyl sounded this good.

I haven't listened to this album in ages only because it's on 45 rpm vinyl.

Contains my favourite tune 'Walking Up'.

Blink 182. Greatest Hits. On CD from 2005. I know, it's poppy polished punk but I like it. Yes I do.

I have been listening to Silvestre Revueltas' work for last few weeks now.
He is a completely unknown Mexican composer who died at the age of 40 in obscurity. Sometimes dubbed as a *Mexican de Falla*, his work has roots in primitive folk music. Lively, spirited and down to earth yet lyrical. There always seems to be underlying uncertainty where surprises are just around the corner.

I found his work fresh and moving.

He only started to compose seriously in last 10 years of his life ( many of them are soundtrack for the movies ) but they run gamut from songs, chamber, orchestra, solo pieces etc..

His music has many faces and colours.  Here  “Homage to Federico García Lorca” (1936) opens with mystrious jazzy chord but quickly goes into wacky humours.

But the slow 2nd movement has a chilling feel fitting for the circumstance of Lorca’s murder.
