This is the first time I heard Sibelius over a real hifi system. It has been before I owned a Naim system. I still had in mind that it was gentle, laid back etc.... Now I get the symphonies have a lot of dynamics - at least the first one I am hearing. Most probably also due to the conductor and his orchestra. One of these moments one realizes how special it is to own a good hifi system.

Ps his tempo is quite a bit higher then I remembered of the other version of Kurt Sandeling.

Just realised that I've had this album almost a year and have only listened to it once...

Staying with Sibelius for now...

I'm listening to Harold McNair's eponymous album for RCA (1968) (SF7969)  original heavy vinyl pressing. It's crisp and revealing of every technique of the musicians. (maybe the system has something to do with that too ). Is it as rare as exorbitant internet prices suggest?

A real treat in 24/96

Sadly not Stu, have been travelling a lot these past couple of months so I just haven't had time. I have been listening to a lot on CD and tape but am getting severe vinyl withdrawal symptoms!

One of my New Year resolutions - will possibly use the opportunity to reconfigure things too, depending on the money situation.
