"Saint Bartlett" (2010) mp3
Jeff,
Have you got this one ?
And this one ?
I have heard the first one once and not the second one. Been a while until today that I have listened to DJ, will do some exploring. Thanks.
E,
Every track is a classic.
He went on to be a very big massive player in the music world after so we never got another album.
I have been giving him a hard time over the years to put it out on vinyl.
Even tried to get MOV to press it.

Jeff have a look on the hifi kabin music forum.
A Japanese import CD of the above (an excellent tip from ewemon). Although I've been a Dire Straits fan for many years, I've only recently 'discovered' this early album of theirs and am very much enjoying it.
FRANK ZAPPA - The Man From Utopia - on c.d.
lots of musical improvisation and verbal extemporising, (jamming and rapping), going on in this very "jazzy" album ; the usual making fun of SEX, along with men's ideas of greatness ; and a celebration of the 'B' movie (The Radio is Broken).
And another older Dire Straits album to conclude the evening's listening. Where do your think you're going? on this album has always been one of my favourite DS songs.

"Any Ordinary Man" (2008) mp3
Two from the DCD 1 vinyl box set.
I have most of their SACD's and I just can't quite get into them.

E,

I did hear a rumour they might be playing in Hong Kong early next year.
If you are over?
This is a super record, recently released on Erased Tapes.
With my favorite lute player, Eduardo Eguez.

"Hopeful.Romantic" (2007) mp3
On the black stuff
Relaxing with the obsessive repetitiveness but beautiful melodies of Simeon ten Holt's Canto Ostinato, played with clockwork precision and sense of urgency by Wieringa and De Haas.
Cheers,
EJ

"Ypres" (2014) mp3
Highly recommended
ROBERT CALVERT -CAPTAIN LOCKHEED AND THE STARFIGHTERS- c.d..
Does Humor Belong In Music? Because it's as black as f### on this album.
a rock opera (or maybe cabaret) with spoken dialogue between, High Command, Ground Control, and Pilots, (and shady American defence industry stooges). Viv Stanishall from Bonzo Dog Do Da Band is one of the actors.

Its not a black album.
Its uplifting and funny as hell.
Its a classic.
Robert was a genius even when he was taking his medication.
Sad loss .
Black stuff
Kevin,
Have you had your TT sorted out yet?
Sadly not Stu, have been travelling a lot these past couple of months so I just haven't had time. I have been listening to a lot on CD and tape but am getting severe vinyl withdrawal symptoms!
One of my New Year resolutions - will possibly use the opportunity to reconfigure things too, depending on the money situation.
Peters new LP12 room.
On vinyl.
