Original vinyl.

Agreed!

I'm currently playing the whole of the 'Best of British' collection which was given by Naim Label as a free 24-bit download last year. According to the iPad, this is my most frequently played album! That's largely down to the exceptionally beautiful 'First Song' by Laurence Hobgood with Charlie Haden and Kurt Elling. Gorgeous!

I never liked much else of his work apart from this one. You may want to try listening to his brother Christy Moore who I think is a far better songwriter. If you do try his Ride On album and move out from there.

Bit of trivia for here. His real name is Barry Moore and this was his 4th album but his second under the Luka Bloom title.

Thanks for the advice. Interesting trivia. I'll do more research, as well as look into Christy Morre's work.

Just catching the end of the Nine Lessons and Carols from Kings on Radio Four. I always think that is the start of Christmas really.

But the pop radio stations have been playing Christmas toons for a good month and mostly they are terrible! Sick of it before the event, but at least I am now spared any more of that till next year!

Happy Christmas! George

And now the album from which the track 'First Song' is taken: Laurence Hobgood's 'When the Heart Dances', NaimCD112.

And some more Ray L.  Hard to decide between these albums as to which is best, or even  Till The Sun Turns Black for that matter

Hi Jeff,

I have been playing my box set and it has been absolutely fantastic as my system is well and truely warmed up after four days of some cruical reggae cuts.

Now on LP 5 of this fantastic set and Dylan has never sounded better.

Thanks for prompting me to play this.

Thanks,

Richard

Jeff,

And on which track does Jennifer sing with Bob on his Bootleg Series 1-3 we have both been playing recently?

Hi Richard

I love all the Dylan Bootleg Series releases I have.  I was not a fan until 8 or 9 years ago and I now have 23 recordings of his and more to get.

I am not sure which track JW may be on with Bob.  I don't recall noticing, which maybe is my bad.  I will listen to all three volumes over the next few days and see if I can locate it.  I tend to listen to vol 2 & vol 3 most frequently.  Perhaps it is on Vol 1 ?

regards

Jeff A
