There are a few albums in this world whose currency has become so devalued by repeated plays that they almost cease to exist (Portishead - Dummy). Of course, there's a reason for its ubiquity. It's great, and now in a sparkling, expanded version, decades on maybe we can listen properly again

Now on to the final CD in the Hathaway box set - a collection of duets with Roberta Flack. Some are a bit syrupy for my tastes, but "Where Is The Love?" is peerless...

I LOVE Lonnie Mack G - really underrrated guitarist.

Monks Kitchen - Music From The Monks Kitchen.

1st play, still working my way through the 2013 new pile.

The Monks Kitchen return after a 6 year hiatus with a full length Long Player on Wonderfulsound.

There’s poetry, harmony, soundscapes, twelve strings, autoharps, pianos, xylopjones and a distinct lack of choruses. And with no clear lead singer & half the tracks instrumental the only tangible thread is that there’s no clue what form of conjured beauty or dark rambling will follow.

Make no mistake “Music From…” is a record that tells a subtle strange story that requires full sonic immersion.

I have to say that if Elbow's new single is anything to go by, their new album will be superb.
