Just how rock 'n' roll should be played.

First full album through my Muso was already an enjoyment while the device hasn't had it's burn in period...

Currently listening this album through my main system. Due to the 192khz it has a lot of air around the instruments - while still having this strange seperation of instruments through the left and the right channel. The album is good and enjoyable. I have the feeling Lee Morhan in his style was a bit ahead of time, but due to that very enjoyable jazz and not outdated...

The performance is a classic; and the sound improved tremendously with the 'legends' 2001 remastering, which was issued in native 24/96 as a download last year. The difference between the download and the CD isn't night and day, with the download somewhat finer grained and fuller in the crucial midrange.

Arrived in the post today.  I was introduced to this album recently by Mike1380 and his vinyl recording sounded stunning on his newly upgraded LP12.  I sought out a CD version and Mike's advice was to go for an early version from the eighties.  This German Phonogram CD is from 1988.  I was prepared to be disappointed but instead I've been delighted.  The quality is excellent and the soundstage, particularly on The Race, is absolutely enormous!  Can highly recommend this one.

The problem with Shpongle is that one is never quite enough... so here is my second helping.

Nothing Lasts But Nothing is Lost (2005)

Posted on: 30 December 2014 by Bert Schurink

You can't call this jazz anymore. It's too poppy for that. But still on average leading to some very nice results which sometimes go over to the too much part, but as it has so much nice melodies I choose the ignore the too part....
