What an enjoyable two hours I have just spent with this wonderful two-CD collection of tunes gathered over a five-night stand at the Village Vanguard in 1995.
1st play but already sounding gorgeous.
Arild Andersen (double bass, electronics), Paolo Vinaccia (drums), Tommy Smith (tenor saxophone, shakuhachi flute).
Trio leader Andersen has played in almost every jazz ensemble context over the years, but there is something especially satisfying about hearing him in the bare boned trio format of sax, bass and drums. For long-time Andersen listeners this trio will also trigger memories of Arild in the early 1970s, with the Triptykon-trio with Garbarek and Vesala, and the Sam Rivers Trio. The absence of a harmony instrument opens up new space for creative interplay and the three musicians, listening acutely, use it very well

On CD. Their finest album IMO. Beautiful.
Bonnie Raitt "Luck Of The Draw" (Spotify Premium)
Bert, in my opinion, this is their best album, excluding their last one which I did not have yet a chance to listen to.
1st play
Original vinyl. I was lucky enough to see Derek and the Dominos at Torquay Town Hall in 1970. I remember it well, I doubt they do. 
Having listened to DSOTM a couple of times over the weekend I thought this one deserved a play.
Damein Jurado "Brothers And Sisters Of The Eternal Son" (Spotify Premium)
Really enjoying this new album. He is moving on from the Unity Band to the Unity Group. The group adds a multi instrumentalist/vocalist and is to some extent a combo of the Pat Metheny Unity Band and Pat Metheny Group. Interview can be heard on the BBC3 iplayer Jazz Lines Sat 6pm.
It might be old but this album is stunningly good.
