Judas Priest - "Sad Wings Of Destiny" on cd, love this band.

Posted on: 04 February 2014 by BigH47

Just realised I posted in the wrong thread.

Listening on Spotify:

Deep Purple album is excellent. Great to hear that organ sound again could be Jon.

After faffing about in the wrong place an issue  showed up:-

Why can't we have a little more time to edit please? You barely have a chance to listen to any thing before commenting.

What is the actual time, 10 minutes?.

AFAIKR we used to get some 45 minutes, I guess we have the new and un-improved version now?

Fever Ray
On Quobuz  streaming FLAC 16 bit/44.1 kHz

I'm enjoying this and here is an extract from a BBC review:

"Fever Ray is the pseudonym of Karin Elisabeth Dreijer Andersson, one half of sibling electronica duo The Knife. Fever Ray is her first solo album while the Swedish pair take a break. It's filled with the same brooding, uncomfortable songs, delivered in swathes of sequencers and impenetrable lyrical concerns. And for fans of such Scandinavian weirdness, it's bloody marvellous."

A couple of bro Olof's twelves as Oni Ayhun from around the same time are pretty special too. Sounding more than a little like Aphex's 'On', 'OAR003-B' is just about the Dreijer family's finest ten minutes since Silent Shout.

Oh, and having spent an age trying to find a 'normal' picture of them both when I posted The Knife's Deep Cuts the other day, I can safely say 'Scandinavian weirdness' is something of an understatement...

Thanks for the info' and heads up CC. She and they are totally new to me, I only heard her for the first time on Radio Paradise this afternoon which is when I ducked into Quobuz to find the rest of the album. Here is a picture of herself when she is not attending to the gym horse or whatever it is.

No probs, Steve. Here's her kid brother again...

The Knife's Silent Shout and Deep Cuts, while not as immediately engaging (alluring?) as that Fever Ray album, are easily the Dreijer family albums I play most. Unsurprisingly, their videos (all on their website) are worth a watch too.

Here's some more Karin that you've maybe heard...

Thanks again CC I will check your links out later.

Streaming from FLAC  ripped CD

ripped it from an old original CD - quite disappointing sound quality...or my NDS has a bad hair day...
