Always a bit murky and compressed ( typical U2 production) but still very enjoyable.

Berlioz's Summer Nights.

If you like Southern Boogie / Country Rock / Skynard / Gram Parsons etc. you have to hear this just brilliant and bought tickets to see them in March

I still have a quite a lot of 5th to go through yet but this is so far the worst set I have heard.

Namby pamby benign aimless set.

I'd even put below 70s Haitink/London Phil 5th.

5th is so overplayed and over exposed so easy to make a mess of it. and this is one of them.

And it's not a very appealing cover kuma - reminds me of a certain German salute!

I think you are used to use the right arm for salute, tho.

if it's right arm salute it must be Wilhelm Furtwängler,

but did his Ludwig van sound better?

Deb,

I haven't heard Furt's 5th yet! But I bet my money that he would be much better than the FUBAR Previn set.

I haven't seen Furtwangler doing the Nazi salute but here's a film footage of him shaking hands with Goebbels after the Beethoven Symphony 9 concert. ( at 4:20 )

From what I read, Furtwangler never joined the party and was rather annoyed that they were pulling his  musicians out of his orchestra  and sending them to the camp. He did the best to save some of the best Jewish musicians.
