nStream

Is it possible in nstream to be scroll through 'Artists', click on a particular artist, and pick an album to play from the start, rather than just a particular track?
Yes. Select the album and press the big play button near the top.
Thanks, on the iTouch, it listed tracks alphabetically, just noticed on the iPad they are in album track order.
i don't see any "big play button" near the top. i am using mindlna as a media server and nstream on an ipod touch. i've mostly got classical music and it is organized by folders. when i browse to a folder containing a particular work (as set of tracks) and touch a particular track, a menu pops up giving me the choice to play or add to play list. if i select play, it doesn't automatically go to the next one.
i'm pretty sure i had this working a few weeks ago and now i don't know how to fix the problem. the naim software is truly appalling. i am a developer--i even have written my own player--and yet it's just one chore after another with this app. they really need to open this up to the community.
anyhow, thanks for any assistance for how to play everything in a folder.
cheers.
There is an option 'play from this track'. There is also a play button at the top. At least, that's what I have.

OK, it turns out i had "upnp compatibility" mode turned off. it works properly with it tunred on, but now i have no choices, it just plays from the selected track onward--fortunately, this is all i want. the "play from this track" and button on the top, i am not seeing.
You can also select the entire album (or folder) from one level up in the menu. By holding your finger on the selection a couple seconds, you get a popup menu. Then select "Play" to play the whole album.
CharlieP, thanks for that, however this does not give you the.Option which album you want to play. I also tried switching upnp compatibility on and this just listed the tracks in the Artist folder alphabetically, mixing individual albums up. This would seem like such an easy request. I know I can just go back to the Album area and go from there, but this is meant to be the modern and convenient way to play music.
Think the problem here is your music server. What are you using?
Twonky, for instance, gives the options Artist/Album, whereas the Naim servers do this automatically under each Artist. I believe Asset does much the same too.
nStream will only list the data & library structure presented to it by the "server". It doesn't create the library structure itself.
Tony
Thanks for explaining that, Tony. Now I understand why I had to enable 'tracks' in my UnitiServe before I could do a track search in nStream. It's entirely logical when you think about it. It must also make the developers' lives much more complex, so that the apps can cope with so many options.
