Depressing: 25% of US college graduates reject basic science. In other news, Earth is flat, Sun goes round it, bad harvest due to witches. Middle Ages here we come.

It is depressing, although in part down to a generally held misunderstanding of the word "theory". What is really surprising, though, in that research, is the percentage of religious people who don't believe that human development was 'guided by a supreme being'. What is the point of religion if you don't believe that?
