How can I edit the 'position' field of a track?

Hi everyone,

I had the surprise this morning, when hearing to "Les parapluies de Cherbourg" (kind of a Jazz musical/opera) that the tracks were not played in the correct order. This music is on a NAS and when I look into the folder whith mp3tag software, I can see that the track number is correct there. But when I check the same album with the Naim desktop player, I see a 'position' field (at the top right of the columns). And this 'position' field is going like '3-5-5-6-13-14'...   not exactly the '1-2-3-4...' one could expect.

It's very anoying when one wants to listen to classical music or any piece that has track supposed to follow each other in a specific order...

Can anyone tell me how to edit this 'position' field, or on which tag field it is seeking it's info ?

Thanks!

Yvan

Hi Yvan,

I have never encountered this problem. I have made a number of my own compilation albums in the past and using my tag editor - "Tag&Rename" I am able to change the track list order and this is always reflected in DTC and n-Serve.

I Have you tried a rescan of the network share?

Hi Gerry,

Yes of course, I have made several rescan and it stays the same.

If I could know the source of this 'position' field...

thanks
