What is the latest music you downloaded, what resolution and from where?
Posted by: Stevee_S on 13 January 2014
With more music being downloaded I thought it might be interesting to see what forum members are buying and from where.
The news that HD Tracks are soon to open an online UK store means that more choice is going to be available to us. The variety and quality of downloadable music we can choose from is expanding, MP3 to 24bit studio Masters at 192kHz and beyond.
So what are you buying and downloading?
With a 15% discount offer on HD Tracks today this was £8.92. Bargain
24/96
I was hoping for the deluxe (14 track) version as an option as well. Its got some jamming & Richard Wright stuff. But I need to hear it first; if its like the Endless River deluxe additions, no thanks, they don't gel with the River theme.
Both versions are available from Qobuz but unusually they are way out on the price for both 10 track & 14 track deluxe.
I'm keeping my credit card dry to see how it changes over the weekend

I checked out the '14 track Deluxe' version on Qb but given it had three more versions of 'Rattle That Lock' for double the price decided to dip my bread
Listening to it now whilst working from home ...... very nice for a first play
I just checked the extra tracks out, & like my comment on Endless River, they are not part of the whole - so no thanks. I will download the stnd version as soon as I hook up the ethernet (I never use wireless to download, OK maybe a bit like walking under ladders, but ethernet is faster & at a steady mb/s rate - & I don't get hit on the head with a paint pot)
Just tried this on HD Tracks but no sign of the discount, is there a discount code somewhere?
Cheers Mr THX, code duly applied and downloading it now.
Funny in Germany the discount is less (10%) and so it's cheaper via Qobuz Sublime - HD Tracks 10,80 Qobuz 9,99....and then of course also in deluxe version...
Must be in 24/96 given the size of the files, from Bandcamp:

Radio Silence is the sound of a band fully comfortable in their unique sonic skin. And if an album is simply a snapshot of a work in progress, then this is a perfect portrait, capturing Cowley and his co-conspirators in the right place at the right time. This is the record that he has been working towards, documenting the magical empathy of a unit, who, with thousands of hours under their belt have learnt to breathe and listen as one
