SU occasionally losing network - just me?

Posted by: Pev on 14 January 2014

Very occasionally, about once a month, my SU seem to lose its connection to my network. I'm hard wired with fixed ip address and a rock solid network. No other device has this problem. If I look in settings it says the network is connected and it has an ip address in system status but "press play to try again" has no effect.

I can fix it by turning it off and on but even then I have to press "list to retry" up to 5 times before the wretched thing admits it is actually connected! This seems very unacceptable behaviour to me.

Is my unit faulty or do others suffer from this? It's only a few minutes aggro but it's bloody annoying when I want to listen to music NOW!

I've had similar experiences on a regular basis. Up until now I've just turned my Superuniti off and then on again. And it has worked every time, but not today. As weird as it may seem the problems today started when I noticed that the SU wouldn't play the whole album, and the album picture wouldn't show. I then restarted the SU as usual and everything worked just fine until I tried to open nStream which seemed stuck on "connect". S. I tried to boot the SU again, but to no avail. and now it is even worse as it cannot find - as in "No server" om the display. I have tried everything - even the switch and the Unitiserve has been turned on and off. Oh, and iRadio doesn't work either, but playing music from a memory card/USB works fine - which made me think that the streaming function is to blame? Anyway, my dealer has been contacted and I hope it can be remedied soon.

I get the "connecting" issue described above occasionally on my NDS. However, I also get blips where a track will stop for a second or two then continue playing. It's random so I've never had chance to see what the buffer is doing. It's happen twice this week.

Does anyone else get this issue ?

no - I don't see this behaviour

My dealer advised me to try and update the Superuniti's software as it apparently could make it find the unitiserve and also make n-stream connect. Now that would be lovely if it wasn't for the problem that the "USB option" doesn't appear in the menu after having connected the SU/laptop and the router. It appears that when the USB is connected and is about to be installed it just isn't able to do so? Have any of you experienced this?

Exactly the same things happen over here on my Uniti!

And they started happening only after the most recent softwarfe update (!?)

I am now pretty certain the latest firmware is buggy.  I should have not updated it, the previous version was rock solid and I do not see or hear any SQ improvements anyway ...
