Are Naim actually paying Hoop.less for this, well, mess?
Please say no...

I think that nickname might stick for a while....

Hoop.less could use the Saif al-Islam Gaddafi tactic and blame everyone from foreigners, exiles, drug addicts, Islamists and the media for the crisis.

Constructive comments?
Can't make a silk purse from a sows ear. It seems to me they're just backtracking to reach the standard previously set on an "inferior" platform.

Just saw this on a weather website I just checked the forecast on
:
Notice Anything Different? Find out what's new and improved at Weather Underground! Miss the old site? Classic view.

I have recently come back to this forum after a long period of inactivity. So far as I can see the only advantage is the ability to change your personal details, including your user name. The old Eve forum was very good; maybe I just need to get used to this.

Too much scrolling!
Please try and fit more posts on one 'screen', and keep the nav pane locked to top of screen when scrolling down through posts, so that i can easily jump back to the main forum.
I also think 'Refine list' should be renamed 'Search'

Once we get it functional, that'll be the time to argue about what to call it!

Personally I think the ability to change your user name is pretty ridiculous.
I would think it's nightmare to moderate and as a stupid man it is easy to confuse me.
At least it's not the only stupid feature on this forum , so I guess some form of consistency.

Got to agree with you.
I think some people are having fun with the different usernames, but like your mother told you about pulling faces, the wind will change and you'll stay like that!

Changing your avatar is fine, changing user names is confusing IMO. Thought quite a few long standing members had left or been very quiet, maybe they just changed their user names.

Agreed 100%.
Replied to a post the other day from what I thought was a relatively new member (not thinking to check their post count and/or "community points").
Tried not be condescending, just helpful, when I saw a comment about a particular cable. Made the suggestion that what was heard may have been context-dependent.
The reply had "who do you think you are talking to" written all over it.
So, yes, beware of old-timers masquerading as newbies!

Hello.
I just posted a picture in System pics.
My photobucket-image is larger than the picturee shown on the screen.
Why does the forum software reduce images on it's own?

Yes, I've flagged up the image re-sizing for review.
Also, the ability to change username and e-mail will soon be admin only...

I am getting really fed up with having to submit almost every post twice. I click Submit Reply and there's no click to show the browser (IE8) has got it, the turning wheels turn and turn and nothing happens. Click the X and click Submit Reply again and the click happens almost immediately.
This is happening almost every post and it's really quite tedious.

Can we please have the contributor's location in the post header? It's really handy to know where people are based without having to go to their profile for it, and thereby not tell them to pop down to their dealer when they're in Outer Mongolia.
An idea of how new the contributor is to the forum also helps - we used to welcome people to it but now we have little idea - and don't tell me to go to the profile. You've got enough space in the header to show this.
And also, how about the initiator's name being in the thread list? You show their avatar, but 1) avatar's change where names don't and 2) loads of people haven't included an avatar so the avatar alone is not much of a distinguishing mark. Nice idea but impractical in my view.

Well said Frank, and I sense your utter frustration.
Absolutely NO FEEDBACK fron Hoop.la at all. We have no idea whether these, or other sensible suggestions are being taken on board or not. And it seems as if WE are having to do all the functional spec writing for them in the blind hope that they might take a couple of ideas on board and claim customer focus and customer satisfaction.
Personally I don't have much hope at all. I think that Naim will have to dump Hoopla. I only hope we don't loose the archive of past posts.
Cheers
Don

The bottom of each forum page used to give direct access to the next 5 or 6 pages. This was helpful when looking for recent threads.
Now you can only move one page at a time, and you have to scoll down each page to search for the subject. A real pain
Cheers

Don I fear you're right. The longer it goes without any sign of good practices being introduced, starting with a list of issues and requests alongside proposed actions, the more pessimistic I become. Will Naim dump Hoopla? They have to make that decision. There would obviously be costs and/or legal issues involved so they have to make the call.Absolutely NO FEEDBACK fron Hoop.la at all. What a fecking fiasco this has been.

Again I just want to repeat - the new forum has too much white space, too much wasted space which makes reading and tracking difficult.
Please fix this if possible.

Again I also just want to repeat - if we could simply move the four boxes labeled "Add Reply", "Watch Topic", "Tags", "Share This Topic" to the top or the bottom (as has been asked at least a couple of dozen times!), and allow the posts to go fully from side to side, it would provide a huge, and immediate improvement in readability.
Is there any way Naim and/or Hoop.la can PLEASE tell us whether this one (apparently simple) request is even doable? Or is this another case of hidden stuff over on the right preventing this from happening? I really hope not.
Personally, have never used any of those four choice boxes, and cannot imagine that they are so important as to merit the use of so much prime real estate.
Thank you for listening....at least I really hope you are. Please note that while many of us continue to hang in there, and hope for the best, we remain very frustrated that we are not hearing any plans or seeing any progress in improving this forum.
Isn't about time you guys tossed the dogs a bone?

As Hook says regards those boxes a Post reply box for instance is in at the thread start and end.
Again, "watch thread" is useful for low turn over forums , which this one surely isn't.
I agree the silence is deafening, and worrying.
