Using Opera 11.

Nothing happens when I click Post Reply, I have to quote, erase quote and then post.

Half my screen is blank as the post only cover half the screen.

The font is still hard to read.

Signature dose not work, well I cannot see it.

Everytime I edit (I am a serial editor) the space between lines increases.

Not enough Bunnies on the new forum.

It is only hi-fi, as you understand then.  Some of these folks need a reality check on their self-importance and entitlement.  And that one has 8000 posts, shame they feel compelled to hide behind that member name.  I almost gave them two bunnies.

This bunny has come to say: "Time is running out"

Jeff, thanks for the picture. I am not going away all mad but I do not find it easy to post or pleasurable to use the forum, like many others who are very obviously absent. You can see posting levels have declined significantly. I will wait it out and see what happens. Life is busy and there are many good ways to spend your time but this new format in it's current messed state is not one of them. By the way I tried to post my reply using Safari on my iPad and it would not let me, so that counts me out most of the time.

Jeff I do not feel compelled to hide behind any member name. I just like the ability to change my naim when I want. Bye

I read and reread Art Dudley's review of the CDS2 so many times that it's now committed to memory.

Given the state of the responses here, I think desperate measures are required :

That one has not been told to reset his clock in his profile.  But since he hasn't yelled at anyone yet, we'll cut him some slack.  I don't want have to give him a human.

Stick around or come back in a bit Jan-Erik, I expect it will be all alright in time.  Naim deserves our thanks, not our anger and impudence.  I would expect they are working on the constructive suggestions if they can find them amongst reams of unfounded vitriol.

Agreed Jeff,

As I posted in installment 1. "Message to all : Have a little faith, Naim will fix this."

Sorry about releasing the big bunny prematurely.

Makes it hard for someone to tell who they are dealing with.  But I will gladly take it at face value.  Here is another bunny just in case - have a good evening, I hope you return.

Still no widgets in Post Reply box.

Is there no Blackberry or Android app? or are Naim owned my Apple these days?

Oh dear
What have you done to the forum
Posted on: 11 February 2011 by Jan-Erik Nordoen
It's been bunnyfied
Posted on: 11 February 2011 by ewemon
It's a miracle. The forum is worse now than it was before the 7th Feb. I cannot post anything without clicking quote on the previous post then deleting the the quote and entering my post. Sorry if that's progress then I won't be posting much.

Still don't have the ability to post images either.

Naim..

Some improvement, which is good to see.

Good to see Paul and Richard getting involved to sort out the issues.

I am sure we will get there.

Any idea when the search function will be properly active to allow search of historical information?

Regards,

Elkman

Elkman - I believe I read today it would be 3-4 weeks.

Ewen, sorry you and *O_>? and others are having such a difficult time on your preferred devices. I guess I have been fortunate to have a pretty easy time, but I am not state-of-the-art when it comes to communications and access, so my antiques may work better with this initial release. I hope, otherwise, you and Mon are doing well.

In my experience this is not unusual.  I have been through about 5 computer conversions in the past 15 years at work and they have all gone like this, I understand the exasperations of people but I don't understand the anger -  on a recreational site.

I do understand the potential pr and marketing advantages of a forum, but in the overall scheme of their business priorities at any given time, including now, I doubt that this is the best use of Paul's time.  That he is willing to be directly involved tells me Naim is still a company I wish to support and thank.

I don't mean to stifle this thread, but it would be nice if it was more constructive and less critical.

regards to all,
Jeff A

and don't forget the music.

People are still commenting that there's no search but as far as I can see it works for me. If I type "beatles" in the box I see a set of threads involving the Beatles. Granted I wasn't a heavy search user before and maybe it would be nice to search by title or content but at least it's there now, needing further refinement perhaps, but that's got to be a step forward surely.

Jeff I've also been through a number of migrations over the years and sure enough they seldom go smoothly. I've seen resource requirements drastically underestimated and this only shows up when you have a network of real users let loose doing their worst. I've seen new features that have been tested exhaustively falling over when real users get at them. But I've never seen anything like this where previously existing functionality has disappeared and still isn't there a month later, where basic functions that exist on every other message board on the web don't exist, where communications have been so poor (not from Naim. I suspect Paul and Richard are much more pissed off about it than any of us).

The whole thing has been a very public shambles and I sincerely hope Naim are kicking some arses at the moment.

Hi Tom

Points taken, but I don't expect we should or will know how Naim is dealing with Hoopla.  That is business, and water over the dam at this point.

This is the reason some are reporting 1/2 page (or screen space) and it will depend on how you view the web page and the size of your monitor. On my 19inch screen at 1680 x 1050 the attachments show how this works. Pesonally, I don't see this as an issue - and will just size the window accordingly.

The last time I checked, websites conformed to my resolution and monitor size, not vice-versa.

Odd the things that remind one of time wasted at University.

My finals included the question "Does the beetle fall out of the box?"

"Another point that Wittgenstein makes against the possibility of a private language involves the beetle-in-a-box thought experiment.  He asks the reader to imagine that each person has a box, inside of which is something that everyone intends to refer to with the word "beetle". Further, suppose that no one can look inside another's box, and each claims to know what a "beetle" is only by examining their own box. Wittgenstein suggests that, in such a situation, the word "beetle" could not be the name of a thing, because supposing that each person has something completely different in their boxes (or nothing at all) does not change the meaning of the word; the beetle as a private object "drops out of consideration as irrelevant". Thus, Wittgenstein argues, if we can talk about something, then it is not private, in the sense considered. And, conversely, if we consider something to be indeed private, it follows that we cannot talk about it."

It may not be very helpful.

One thing that always underwelmed me about using this forum is the absence of tag or sign that is telling you visually (and easily) if you participated to a tread or not, or if you've read it already or not. That's something I like from the phpBB based forum interface we see about everywhere else.

Receiving tons of email notifications to follow up your activities on the forum is not a viable alternative.

Bye.
