Backup of HDX, complete
Posted by: AudioSavant on 14 January 2014
Can you hardwire direct from HDX to an external drive, sans network, cat-5, router etc., via
back panel jacks to an external HD to increase , a) Speed, b) accuracy, and C) to keep network free of additional traffic ? I know this should be EASY and logical from unit, manual, and all indications but...It is interesting that in 'Naim desktop' it has a tabbed page for backup, but it seems to refer only to internal 2nd. drive. ( I have dual drives), but not even the NAS it is ripping & playing from...nor details on how to change this! I have searched through every note I have and I don't see a way of changing this setting, addressing other back-ups...or to the question of direct connections, other than to say within manual that it is possible. Anyone have good success with this ? I would hate to not have third back up of my music! After all, if you ask WD or Seagate, they say the only way to be secure, is back up, back up! Thank you.
PS: While I use PC, dare I mention or ask if you cross to the dark side, can this be done on a MAC?
