Anyone going to the Super Bowl?

Have a great time if you are. I'll be at home rooting for the Seahawks.

The Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks advanced to the big game, which means this year’s Super Bowl will have teams from the two states where recreational marijuana is legal. Pizza delivery boys in those states ought to have a heyday on Super Sunday.

I was offered two tickets in the upper level of the north end zone for $1700 apiece.  That makes it even more convenient to stay home.

I am rooting for the Broncos.

For my sins...I am a Browns fan....so to those in the know.....guess who I will be rooting for?

Cheers

I guess that explains why I am a Bills fan. The sin part that is. Pulling for Seattle in this match up.

Jim,

Glad to hear you'll be rooting for the Hawks! I was a Clowns fan growing up. Attended many games at old Municipal Stadium during the heyday of the Cardiac Kids.

Sounds like a wager is in order, Skip. How about looser has to post a classy tribute to the winning team?

I wonder what's worse; never having gone to a Super Bowl, or going four times without winning?  That's a tough one. I used to love watching Jim Kelly.

I am hoping Peyton wins another one. Go Bronco's!

My parents went to the rainy Superbowl Colts vs. Bears I believe. They had a good time but hotels sucked because they were booked so far in advance. The Superbowl here in Indy was a great one, the announcers and all the out of towners seemed to love it here with our great hoosier hospitality and all. The festivities were better than the game.

Joe,

Actually, I will be pulling for the Broncos in this one.  Despite "The Drive" and "The Fumble" I actually have a soft spot for Elway and was ecstatic when they beat Green Bay (98?)?

The current Browns regime is a disaster that are severely testing my loyalties - especially since I haven't lived there since 2000!

Cheers

Anticipation building. About 15 hours from kickoff. I'm thinking this one is going to be an instant classic.

Watching the Superbowl, anyone else putting the late shift in?

No more, my bed is calling. Broncos got some work to do.

Broncos did not yet come to play, and Seattle clearly has.

I went to the Superbowl in 1995 in Miami, Fla. San Francisco were playing San Diego (IIRC). Miami Sound Machine and Tony Bennett played at half time. The San Francisco 49ers won I think.

I quite enjoyed the beer and ribs and burgers, but had not the faintest idea of what was going on down on the pitch. American "football" is surely the most fiendishly incomprehensible "sport" ever devised by man, and only marginally less pointless than golf.

The last one I watched on TV was either in 98 or 99; I remember John Elway.  (I had to look it up.  Surprised it was so long ago!)

I root for Naim, mostly, nowadays.  But the Seahawks seem to deserve an attaboy today, even from me.  I cannot watch, but the rest of the family is entertained.  It is times like these when I see the real benefit of a dedicated listening room.  One day . . .

Cheers, sportfans.

Floyd Mayweather bet $ 10.4 millon on the Broncos!

Posted on: 02 February 2014 by Dan43

Oops, he can afford it.

Wonder the odds on the safety score at the beginning of 1st half then a punt return for 2nd half.

He could have donated it to several Charities !

Absolutely dominating performance by the Seahawks in every aspect of the game; defense, offense, special teams, preparation, and execution. Hopefully more to come!

Your team was lucky Joe.  It could have gone either way but you got the breaks!

Thanks Jim. This kinda makes up for the last Seahawks Super Bowl appearance, as the refs kept themselves out of the game .

Folks around here have been saying that Seattle "deserves" this. I say NO, Seattle "earned" this.

If ever there was a team that "deserves" a Super Bowl victory, it would be the Browns.

Cheers from Seattle, where even now, at midnight, it is sunny!

Joe,

The Browns, with their current (alleged) crook of an owner and with Joe Banner and Mike Lombardi as the  "brain trust" deserve absolutely nothing!

Enjoy basking in the win.

Meanwhile, I will bask in Aberdeen's 4-0 victory over St Johnstone in the Scottish League Cup semi final on Saturday.  Now for the final against Inverness on April 16th!

Cheers

Hey Jim,

If you haven't heard about it, check out previews for the new Kevin Costner movie entitled "Draft Day", due out in April. It features Costner as the Brown's GM.

When my wife asked me why they chose the Browns to be featured in the film, I told her for the same reason the Indians were featured in "Major League" back in the day .

Anyhow, I've moved past my youthful allegiances to Cleveland and have  embraced the Seattle sports scene. Life-long Buckeyes fan though.

Cheers!

Joe,

Looked what happened to the Indians after that movie....almost won 2 World Series....typical Ceveland though....key word is almost! :-)

Cheers
