AV2's stock accessories and cable for unity gain input.

Posted by: Massimo Bertola on 23 January 2014

Hello,

I might be buying an AV2 because it seems a good bargain. I had one a few years ago, and I still might be enjoying good DVD sound in my stereo system.

The unit comes with an apparently classic grey, 5-pin, 180° interconnect, but I seem to remember that it was an 'inverted' one to use it into the Unity Gain mode of preamps and integrates, going from analogue input 3 of the AV2 into av input of the preamp/integrated.

The seller is not sure, so I ask someone here: did the AV came with this 'inverted' IC as stock cable?

Thanks

Max

Thanks. For some reasons, I tend not to use the search function (mainly because I stumble into old posts of mine and feel silly re-reading them).

Dave at Flashback cables can make up the missing reversed lead if the original is missing. If you need a longer run, he'll also fit the resistors that they need too. A quick google will soon find his site. Very fair prices too.

Thanks, I know FBS and I have had cables made by him, including a long one with resistors for my n-Sub..

Always a good resource for missing cables!

The Naim inverted Din5 cable has the yellow ring (instead of the green standard one)

So, my AV2 has arrived and, as I feared, it comes with a standard, green-ringed interconnect and not the 'reversed' one.

Since my Nait5i has RCA sockets for AV input, am I correct in assuming I'll have to have a DIN to RCA cable, with reversed pin connections at the DIN side, made?

Sorry for the redundant question but I just want to be sure. My first AV2 came with the proper cable and my 202 had DIN AV socket.

Thanks,

Max

That sounds about right if it's RCA AV inputs on the Nait Max.
