Who Knows Where the Time Goes - Definitive versions and the albums they are on

I'm looking for the best album (or albums) to get a version (or versions) of this track on. Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson or even any highly regarded cover versions. I've listened to a few on Youtube but want others' views on which album(s) I should be chasing.

I've recently been getting hooked on Judy Collins' voice. Her cover version is well worth checking out. Available on the many "greatest hits" collections.

I've seen that on Youtube. Yes, excellent. But I'm generally a little adverse to "Greatest Hits" records. I might make an exception for that one.

Hi Winky, the most spirited, but not necessarily the best technically recorded, version of Who Knows Where The Time Goes, sung by Sandy Denny i have found is the live version on the Sandy Denny BBC Sessions 1971 to 1973. (CD is rare but absolutely worth hunting for used)

it conjures up the emotion nicely, and papers over the technical inadequacies of  the recording. There are other live claasics on that album such as the Northstar Grassman which are shockingly evocative and good as well as better recorded.

Not sure if it is the same version, but Amazon UK has a four disc box set and a one CD best of of Sandy Denny's BBC recordings as currently available.  The best of is on Spotify as well and I just listened to Who Knows Where The Times Goes and I agree with Simon.  It is a beautiful performance.

Try Nanci Griffths version with Maura O'Connell, James Grant, Danny Thompson and Karen Matheson on the above album.  Watch the youtube video below.
