hi all,
I have a little qute and I have had a few little issues of late.
my set up consist of a laptop running jriver and all music ripped in flax or wav. My qute does recognise jriver, I can see all the files, artists, genres....via my ipad under n stream, can select what to play and i can see it loading up all the files when I have decided what I want to play, but for some reason, the qute keeps coming up with stopped.
At first I thought it was the computer not playing the game but soon realised after a few reset of both modem and computer that the issue was still present and had to turn off the qute and start again. It s happening more and more now. If I don t use the upnp input for a few days it plays up, but once I reset the qute, I can go from upnp to aux, to digital inputs, to radio and back to upnp without a problem. It s only if I don t use the upnp for a few days that it goes wrong otherwise all is fine.
I have never upgraded the software from the day I bought it ( March 2013), so do you think it s worth doing so and may resolve that issue.
all advice welcomed and appreciated.
regards
jean

Sounds like it might be IP addresses changing. If you are using the DHCP address allocation then the default on most routers is that the lease is only for a couple of days.
The fix for this is to either set up fixed IP addresses for your Qute and PC or set up reserved IP addresses for your PC and Qute in the router. Either approach means they will always use the same IP address and it helps eliminate theses sorts of issues.

Hi mate,
thanks for the reply and advice.
I am not really sure how to fix the il address as I am not very computer tech savvy.
It took me a long time to buy a naim streamer as I was very afraid of setting it up.
i will google and research how to fix the IP address in order to eleminate this issue.
once again, I really appreciate the reply and advice.

Don't worry about being a bit tech illiterate. I can only bandy terms like fixed IP addressing because I have learned all that stuff on this forum..
Your dealer should really have helped you with this stuff, but a few of them seem to not be that clued up either.
What network router are you using? Is it the one provided by your broadband company? If so which one? And are your Qute and PC connected wirelessly or wired?
