Nd5xs - No server - Please help!
Posted by: Seaman on 25 January 2014
Hi!
I have just got the Nd5xs and hooked it up to my nait-2. I can play internet radio but when i select input upnp its searching for a while and then "no server". I have my network player connected to a Synology NAS (where I stor all my music) through a router. Why can't Nd5xs find the NAS?? I have connected it with cable. I have a macbook.
Hope there is someone who can help me?

Hi Seaman
Have you started the Synology in built "Media Server" app
Graeme
Have you installed/configured media server software e.g. Twonky or synology server software on your NAS?

Do you have an artwork image in the same directory as the flac files are in. Mine is in the format "folder.jpg". I also have the image embeded in the flac file too, but to be honest im not sure which is used By n-stream. You can use a free app called Mp3Tag to edit/ check this part. Its very handy app to change the meta data on flac files.

Sometimes n-stream takes a while to pick them all up. Ive found that clearing n-stream cache can force them through. This can be done via the little wheel at the bottom right of n-stream.
