Car Buying Websites/Companies

Has anyone used one of these "We'll give you much less than a private sale" car buying firms? They seem like the payday loan part of the auto trade and a last resort. Besides, you miss the stand-offs and mind games of selling privately which is a shame.

They are an opportunity to offload a piece of rubbish which would otherwise be unsaleable.

I dumped a massively faulty, though not unsafe, car on the most famous of these outlets a couple of years back, exploiting the inability of the commission-driven, largely untrained, staff to identify faults deeper than the cosmetic.

After submitting the vehicle, I quaked for a few days, as the company allowed itself 4 days - days in the absolute, not working days - to 'inspect' the car, but the agreed sum was paid to my account without problems. I got round most of the 4-day provision by taking the car round for its initial assessment in the dying minutes of the Friday before a Bank Holiday weekend.

If its the firm i`m thinking of i call them WE STEAL ANY CAR .COM.

I bought a new car exactly 12 months ago,and rang these people to see how much they would give me for my car, which was in perfect condition and only 3 years old. They offered me £2000 less than i got p/ex  with the main dealership that i bought the new car from.

What would you expect - they are a business and deal with those who are either too lazy to research the value of their vehicle and do the legwork to sell it or those who just need money quickly. Seller beware etc...
