Thanks for that.

I would have beene excited about that a few years ago but not sure where they fit into my musical world now; I rarely play any of the albums any more. Time for a 're-invention' perhaps? They are so talented individually that anything is possible so we shall see

A band I've admired rather than loved.

Excellent news! And on vinyl too. Brilliant.

Well I'm excited. I thought that "In Rainbows" was up there with their best, and I'm very much looking forward to this one.

Great news!! Thanks for posting.

I think "In Rainbows" is their finest work, so I'm really looking forward to this album...... a tough act to follow

Cheers.

I know what you mean, they just died on me, especially Thom Yorke's voice. Seeing them in 2003 they were excellent, but when I saw then in 2006 it did nothing for me, and their audience, well not people I would want to be in the same room with again, although that could be said for a couple of other bands I like still.

I do like Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood artwork though, and OK Computer and Kid A remain some of my favourite album artworks.

I'll will give this a miss though, as I did for their last album.

Did you give "In Rainbows" much of a listen? It really is very good.

For a few bucks for the download, I don't know that you're risking much by trying this one either.

I have to admit that In Rainbows has catapulted right into my top 10 favourite albums.  In fact, it could well be contender for my top five.  The second disc that came as part of the deluxe box is so damn good it could have been released as an album in its own right (in much the same way as Amnesiac was released as a separate album from Kid A).  It's hard to imagine how King Of Limbs could top In Rainbows.  But on previous evidence, I'd put money on Radiohead pulling off just such a coup.  Less than a week to go to find out.  Can't wait.

Too many times, I worked with someone who played it a lot. I have just lost interest in the band, and particularly Thom Yorke's voice.

'Kid A' was my favourite when I did like them.

Has anyone compared the CD and vinyl versions of Rainbows?

I didn't bother with the vinyl copy as I found that most new vinyl releases were often a poor copy of the CD (the CD probably used as the vinyl master, too).

I bought the the CD of In Rainbows first, and then the vinyl.   My pressing was a disappointment (TBD 88088-21623-1).  I thought it was cheaply made, and my copy had lots of surface noise.

Did recently buy this 2 LP set:

Much higher quality pressings, and a well-recorded concert.  The song list was from Kid A and Amnesiac.

"In Rainbows" is definitely in my top ten all-time prog rock list.  Wore it out when it first came out,  and am now very much hoping that the new album picks up where "In Rainbows" left off!

Have to say, I'm pretty excited about this one.

I'd heard as late as last autumn that a Radiohead album would turn up before the end of last year, and I was starting to wonder what was happening. So, a nice surprise when Radiohead was 'trending' (daft, I know) all over the internet this morning. Apparently, the site in my link has crashed a few times today from over-use.

As you bought your vinyl copy after the CD (which was released end of 2007) you probably have the repress. James, Richard's 2 x 45 rpm version, included in the initial box set with the extra cd at the time of the 'pay what you like' download, is the one to have. I haven't done a direct comparison with the cd, but it sounds excellent. It costs though these days.

I didn't even used to like Radiohead that much, but In Rainbows must be one of my most-played albums of the last few years, with nothing even close to a duff track for me.

Roll on Saturday.

I have the original 45rpm vinyl pressings of In Rainbows. Both unused as I don't have a TT .

Pre-ordered. Thanks for the tip off.  Bought In Rainbows with to 2 x 45 RPM vinyl and CD when it came out, if the new disc is half as good I will be a happy bunny.

I have most all the albums on vinyl as well as CD.  Generally I have found them to be fairly average.  The LPs in the deluxe box set are not too bad and definitely in another league compared to a regular 33rpm issue I bought in Canada (uuugh!  On an Avid Acutus/Aro/Dynavector DV XV-1 front end, the sound was so murky and poor I thought somebody had knackered the stylus), but if you already have the CD and a decent player then I really wouldn't bother going for the vinyl.  Of course, if you don't have a top class CD front end but prefer to spin vinyl then the LP would probably make some sense.

Pre-ordered the vinyl/disk/download set. Looking forward to it.

I bought the MP3 version and no I'm not tempted by the fanbloodytatsic vinyl offering.

2 - 1 to the Ar-se-nal.

Also out on old-fashioned cd and 12" vinyl on March 28th. I've still no idea what this could be:

"Many large sheets of newspaper artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradable plastic to hold it all together."

A Radiohead jigsaw??

May be I should give In Rainbows a whirl. Got the download from my son but haven't really enjoyed them so much post-OK Computer which along with The Bends (both on vinyl) I do still play a lot great. Great LPs by a supremely talented band at the height of their power, to me anyway.

"Radiohead have brought forward the digital release of their new album "The King Of Limbs" by 24 hours with the album now being sent to those who pre-ordered it earlier this week."

That'll be today then! This video's just turned up on their Twitter feed. Caution: may contain Thom Yorke dancing...

Just downloading the new LP now!

Video made me laugh at the awfullness. Perhaps this was not the intention?

The track sounds OK but nothing terribly exciting, nor much progression from before. I have no idea what he is getting so emotional about, as ever with his obscured falsetto.

I did wonder if it was a spoof and actually a track from the next Massive Attack album. I rather liked Heligoland!

eek. I think Thom will regret swallowing LSD and then filming himself....and then posting it on You Tube.
