dBpoweramp R15
Posted by: Bananahead on 21 February 2014
It seems to be popular here.
There is now R15 available.
Just put this on my PC with a view to converting a back-up folder of all my music to 'WAV' but the only option to convert all the files to (outside all the lossy ones) is 'Wave' - not the same thing I'm guessing?
Confused
Anyone in the know?
Thanks,
G
Sorry to sound fick Graeme; I don't understand the question. Could you go into a bit more detail for the benefit of the uninteligent? I have just installed R15 and given it a test run on some FLACs I got from Society Of Sound. All converted to WAV fine. There are several components to dBpoweramp. have you got them all up and running?

Thanks Harry - When I click on batch converter and access my folder of music then click to select an album then click on the 'Convert' logo top left I am presented with a window with format options from 'multi encoder' down to 'wave' - No 'WAV' option is visible for selection?

Thanks Osprey - Answered as I was posting.
Ah, right, my mistake. Sorry. I don't use the batch converter. I do one album at a time.
Can't help but I'm sure there will be a solution.
I hope selecting 'wave' is converting to 'WAV' as it says 24hrs to run!

How about trying a small batch, say five albums? Look at the results, check the numbers, have a listen and reassure yourself.
Thanks Harry - It is the case that 'WAV' is the common abbreviation of 'wave' and that they are one and the same. I checked 1 converted album and it did have .wav as the file.
cheers

Is there any reason to upgrade from R14. I mean if R14 ripped cds bit perfect then does R15 rip them more perfectly??????

Yes it is Graeme. And like ripping or converting format, I assume you can keep it at the original bit depth and sample rate. If you want to.

Looks like you're cooking on gas. Good.
