Ripping SACD

Will the UnitiServe rip the CD layer on a SACD?

Has anyone tried this with success?

How did it sound? any different than a regular CD?

Are you asking about the redbook layer on an SACD?  I'd not expect it to sound any different than redbook audio ripped from a 'regular' cd.

Yes it will rip the CD (Redbook) layer and as Bart says it will sound like a ripped CD.

My HDX will not rip my two Audio Fidelity SACDs. It can't find the CD layer. I don't have any other SACDs.

It might find it if you copy it to a CR-R Harry.

Agreed Ghaeme. In my case, my PC drive would read the layer and dBpoweramp ripped it a treat. So it took little longer than an HDX rip, went into a share on the NAS and was picked up by nStream after an HDX share refresh. Lovely.
