Hello forum users - any advice gratefully received.
I "upgraded" my Synology 411j firmware the other night from DSM 4.1 to 4.3.
The NAS has been easily discovered by numerous devices on my network including:
- iOS (using Synology Apps)
- Mac laptops and Mac Mini
- Oppo 103
The devices that had previously found it but are now unable to "see" my Diskstation include:
- SuperUniti and n-Stream app
- Sony TV
Surely there is a simple setting somewhere that can be adjusted to restore the previously very easy UPNP experience via n-Stream and the Superuniti itself.
Interestingly, when using the Synology software media player I am able to discover the SuperUniti and play music through it. The data from each track is displayed on the SuperUniti and on the n-Stream app, but I cannot use either method to discover my Diskstation.
Thus far my problem solving efforts include turning everything off and on again. Any tips on what to try next?

I'm a little confused as to what's going on, as you say you can use the Synology media player to play music. As far as I'm aware, you cannot "push" music to a UPnP player from a server.
It sounds like either the ip address of the nas has changed, and not all devices have picked up on that, or a setting in the Synology music server package itself that is not right after the DSM update.

I have for now solved my own problem after browsing the Synology forum for Sony TV problems. In case anybody has the same problem the steps included:
- Open Synology DSM software
- Open Media Server
- Open the third tab, DMA Compatibility
- found a long list of UPNP devices
- unchecked all the Naim, n-Stream and Sony options
- reselected all the options, saved settings
tested n-stream and Sony TV, hey Presto Diskstation up and running again.
hope this helps someone.

Thanks for your comment Bart.
Yes I could have been a bit more concise. The problem was one of "discoverability". Neither the SuperUniti or my TV could "see" the NAS.
With a toggle of a few device settings in the NAS software all is as it should be and I am enjoying Miles Davis via n-Stream control.

I'm glad it worked out! It's not immediately apparent that when updating the DSM, some of the 'packages' also change, but do not keep their settings.
I've read some good things about DSM 5, and am looking forward to it. The beta can be installed, but it's a bit early for me.
