Led Zeppelin Reissue News

Posted by: Steve C on 11 March 2014

Box sets, double vinyl, triple vinyl, deluxe CDs and more. Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II and Led Zeppelin III reissued on 2 June 2014.

Anyone else looking forward to these with trepidation knowing Page was involved with the remastering.

My mate at Warners in the States sent me an email - there's a big announcement on Thursday (13th March).

The big rumour is the bonus disc for LZ1 is the Paris Olympia gig from October '69. It's a great concert.

Studio outtakes on II and III. Apparently "everything" will be available on both vinyl and CD.

Steve

That's interesting. Unfortunately I didn't get bbc sessions but got all the others. First pressings especially first few are very expensive.

They were up briefly last night on amazon.co.uk but were pulled down very quickly. Didn't see the others but the LZ1 triple vinyl was £41, which isn't too bad.

I expect they will be up tomorrow after the announcement.

Now that is very tempting Kevin just for the live discs if nothing else.

Still no official news, but I believe for each album there will be:

Single CD

Double CD with live material and studio outtakes

Single LP

Double LP (triple in the case of LZ I)

and...

Super-deluxe box set: containing 2CDs, 2 or 3LPs, hi-def audio download card (96/24 I think), hardback book, art prints, facsimilies of press kits and memorabilia - individually numbered.

After being blasted with Led Zeppelin at our Led Zep open day for 13 hours at the weekend and being somewhat converted to all things Led Zeppelin this is perfect timing, I can see HiFi Lounge needing some new demo material  Looks like the the Deluxe Box sets for me.

Plus they were Re-Mastered at Metropolis on PMC Speakers, what could possible go wrong

I luckily looked for it on Amazon earlier this afternoon. I've ordered the Deluxe vinyl of the three albums which are excellent VFM. The Super Deluxe box sets, even at pre-order price seem expensive for what they are. It will work out about £40-£50 pounds for the 'book' and poster along with the box. It's the music I want.

I can't see them being too much of a collectors item as they are obviously releasing in excess of 30,000 as evidenced by the blurb saying the first 30,000 posters will be numbered. The Classic Records LPs go for a lot because the numbers were relatively limited and they are excellent SQ.

Exciting times though with the new material and I love the new album artwork.

Please, please let's hope JP has got a new hearing aid.

With Steve on this one the box looks expensive & difficult to store! So have just pre ordered Zep One in the hope that the price goes down before June

Graham.

The super deluxe boxes are expensive (then again you're getting all the music on hi-res, vinyl and CD), but they're comparably priced with the Floyd Immersions - which didn't even contain vinyl! Those marbles and scarves were incredibly expensive!
