I am a Spotify fool

Spotify Premium came free for a year as part of my Virgin package. As they, no doubt, planned I became hooked and kept the subscription running. Initially, I ran Spotify through my Squeezebox or Tivo box using optical into a Teddy Pardo DAC. Found it to very acceptable as background music, I use vinyl when actually listening properly.

However, with ever improving wi-fi access when out and about during my working day, I have been increasingly using Spotify in place of iTunes on my iPhone and iPad. Yesterday I found myself getting bored when listening to some music I usually like, so checked the Spotify  quality options. Bloody hell! both of my portable devices have reverted to lowest streaming resolution.

I guess this happens when either IOS or Spotify versions are upgraded.

So, I have been listening to low res for goodness knows how long. Back to streaming at maximum, and don't let anyone tell you it isn't worth the difference.

Totally agree. I am an active Spotify user as well, and have linked in via Sonos to the NDS.

Ahem, there was a recent announcement of a partnership between Naim and Spotify, which was then, removed from existence. I wonder what's behind the scenes.

Wont the higher quality streams on mobile devices use more bandwidth?  Fine if you have unlimited downloads but be careful if you don't!
