Asset and Mavericks OS - can it work?

Posted by: minnow on 23 March 2014

Hello I am running iTunes 11.1.5 on my new MacPro with mavericks OS.

I just download Asset beta (I think) and it won't install properly - I have a message that says:

could not start upnp service - port bind failure, please close other

Has anyone come across this and what can I do?

I am keen to get a upnp on my mac to stream to my new Lite.

Many thanks

m

Are you certain you don;t have another UPNP service running on the mac? It wont necessarily have to be running in the dock so check your activity monitor in the utilites folder that there is no other UPNP software running.

Hi I did have Eyeconnect but I think I deleted it - though it does come up when i turn my mac on asking me if I should 'accept' or 'deny' access - I can't tell if it is on my new mac or not as I can't fine it anywhere in the applications folder. It shouldn't be as it was loaded on my previous mac. Very confusing.

Hi just check the activity monitor and can only see asset upnp running - no other upnp listed.

Make sure oyou are showing all process and not just my processes.

That being said you certainly still have eye connect installed.

Not sure how it works but check you system prefs it might be at the bottom, if it is press control and right click the icon and remove it, restart the mac.

I am not saying this is the issue its a good place to start though.

Hello - I found out how to disable Eyeconnect and everything is working now as it should.
So thanks to everyone.
Will now download the n-stream app and see what happens

I never thought this day would every happen - Twonkey is officially dead to me now.....

Do you have a link for downloading Asset for Mac, please?

The link is in the dbpoweramp forums

True, but it is hidden and not immediately apparent. I had to search for it, and it was in Test- Upcoming releases section. I used Mac OSX in the search window and got no returns. I added 'beta' and that showed some posts in the Test-upcoming releases section.

It's there, just not conveniently located.
