N-Stream with multiple Unitiqutes

Posted by: Ismaningerman on 25 March 2014

I've been so  enamoured with my UQ2 I'm considering buying a second one for my home office. Does anyone know if it's possible to use N-Stream with two UQs? They'd both be accessing the same NAS, and I'd want to use the same iPad to control both of them (only one at a time).

Regards,

Nigel

I do fine with one Qute and one NDS, so I don't know why 2 Qutes wouldn't work the same.

nStream can only connect to one device at a time, meaning you have to select the device you want to control in the nStream setup screen.  I have yet to want to play music on both simultaneously, so it hasn't been an issue.

Yes Nstream can work with multiple devices, just not at the same time. In the setup screen you select the Naim device you want to control. They appear stacked on top of each other on the top right of the setup screen in the device panel. I have shared Nstream between an NDS and NDX.

however ensure AutoConnection is enabled, as Nstream will use UPnP/DLNA discovery to find the devices and label them in the device window.

Okay, thanks. It sounds like N-Stream will do exactly what I want, so I'll be off to the dealer soon to purchase a second Unitiqute.

You just need to remember to select the intended device. Or, like me, you turn on music and realize it's playing in the other end of the house.
