Streaming from Mac mini
Posted by: Milija on 28 March 2014
I have Naim ND5XS on local network and Mac mini. I want to stream FLAC and Apple Lossless file from Mac HDD. How to do it?
Thank you.

I humbly add that the Squeezeserver 7.3.3 is free, auto installs, is totally efficient and unobtrusive and makes all you have on the MacMini visible in UPnP.
I use just that to stream the few files I stream from this MacBookPro into my SqueezeBox connected to my 42.4/140 studio combo.

SqueezeServer is now supporting upnp?

Has done for a long time. And JRiver can "see" a Touch as a zone. And do gapless with the Whitebear plugin.

I certainly know of Whitebear but i thought you needed Whitebear to make the SBT visible to upnp servers. When I last played with the combo the SBT constantly showed up and went away without Whitebear.
When I called SB tech support they said the UPNP settings in the Server software were only for use with the new "UE" line.
Good to know though....

The upnp server software has an influence to the SQ? You think so, or your experience?
