Duplicate tracks with 'Unknown' properties

Copied some files onto my nas in alac (and a few in MP3). Ripped in iTunes originally and copied to USB key.
Synology Audio Station and n-stream both show the files in alac and MP3, which play fine BUT...
Audio Station and n-stream also show duplicate track files (all commencing in format ._ ) all of which have otherwise 'unknown' file properties and which I can't locate or see in the original folder in order to be able to delete.
Any ideas what's going on?
