Finding radio paradise in N-Stream
Posted by: Jota on 13 May 2014
Hi.
emailed Naim support about Naim's choice in N-Stream being down and asking where I could find Radio Paradise. They said it could be found under the USA but doing a search turns up nothing.
So, where can I get my hands on the 320kbps stream?
Thanks in advance.
As stated by Osprey the best and easiest way of getting to Radio Paradise 320kbps stream is via the Naim choice menu. Please note that last night when I was trying to connect the service was not available - hopefully it is back on stream now.
Dave
I have a number of iRadio presets down at the moment in N-Stream. I have not tried them all but as of now it includes Radio Paradise, Naim Radio and Radio 4. Radio Paradise is working fine through Sonos in my other system.
Radio Paradise 320 has been down for over a day for me! Also I now don't see the Naim Choice stations either in nStream at the moment.

Hopefully the service will be back soon.
OK, thanks all.
Hi Jota,
Yes it would be good to know. I for one am missing listening to iRadio and Radio Paradise in particular. Radio Paradise (320) is still not working for me. Perhaps someone from the Naim area can enlighten us.
Netherlands > Alternative > Pinguin Radio
Not exactly the same genre as RP but still some iteresting music (old and new).
Thanks for that info osprey. I've been tuning into London Burning - UK - Alternative. 192k stream and mostly stuff I've never heard before.
Will give Pingu a go.
I can heartily recommend Radio Pingu! Excellent selection and top quality stream with minimum chatter from the host.
Thx again Osp!

You're welcome. I'm glad you liked it.
Can you see the rest of the Naim's Choice as well?
I can now see all the station logo's, but none will connect
"station not available"
I guess its anytime soon
I can connect to a small selection of the Naim Choice but not RP.
I got a reply from VTuner in NY who host the Naim Choice service and they say it's resolved; not over here it ain't!
The RP 128k stream still works you're re having withdrawals.
I'm outside the UK, if that makes any difference.
The only station I'm getting at the moment is Avro Klassik. I have a Naim Uniti (original) running 3.9.00. Internet connection is via Powerline Adapter - but, if I disconnect it and return to wifi, it's the same, Avro Klassik only.
I'm a BBC addict and haven't had 3/4 for over a week now. "Station unavailable" for both.

Still not working for me either. I spent some time last evening listening to Pinguin (many thanks for the tip Osprey). I suppose there is one positive I can take from this; it is forcing me to look for alternative radio stations as well as listening to some of the music on my NAS that I have not listened to for some time. That said I would like to have access to the facilities and services that I have come to enjoy - so come on guys, can we get it sorted or at least tell us when it will be.
Just curious, but can you receive BBC stations via Naim's Choice? Are you also reduced to just Avro Klassik from that list?
I don't think it's just a Naim problem. More an internet problem. The reason I say this is because my internet service provider are getting grief for exactly the same problem from people who are not accessing radio via Naim devices.

Ps. For the record, of the 18 Naim Choice presets I have, the only ones that are working are Avro Klassik and BBC Radio 6 Music.
Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Had to spend the day in the office!
I've checked through the Naim Choice list and found that I can connect to three or four stations, still not RParadise nor the hires versions of R3 or R4 or even Naim Radio. I did manage to connect to one station Deep Vibes at 320 Kbps so hires streams do work. I also drilled into RParadise via US, California, all stations, and found that I can receive the 192 flavour no problems. Not sure what is up - there doesn't seem to be any common factor apart from accessing via "Naim choices".
Yes, Naim's Choice high res versions not working.

Still no Radio Paradise or HQ Radio 2 or 3 on Naim Choice. The RP 192 stream wasn't doing it for me so I've gone old school and rediscovered my NAT 02. Bliss, there's always an upside!
There's also Linn Radio.................
Come on Naim, Pay the vTuner bill ;-)

Yup, all radio Pardise plus some BBC are down in Naim choice. Some kind of update is in order as to what is happening or should we move this to the 'secrecy' thread?
I mostly access internet radio through the preset section and have just tried to access the 12 I have set up there: these include Naim Radio and Radio Paradise.
Station. kb/s. Buffer
BBC 5live. 128. 100%
Classic FM. 128 100%
FolkUK. 128. 100%
BBC R2. 128. 90%
BBC6music. 128. 90%
LinnClassic. 320. 70-90%
BBC Scotland Struggled to connect then repeat message about either a contractual or technical issue.
Other 5 stations No connection
I then tried Radio Paradise app on my iPad: a bit of a struggle but connection eventually made at 128kb/s
I then tried BBC Radio player app and all 17 stations found, each with less than a second delay: such a joy to use.
I bought my SuperUniti to give me easy access to my music and that has been a great success. Internet radio was a real bonus that I have come to enjoy and appreciate. However it was not the reason for my purschase. However with the soon to be launched Muso I expect that people will expect the various components to work quickly and consistently and they may not be as patient as some of us here. It would be good if this could be sorted for existing customers. It is essential that it is sorted for future customers.
The 320k Radio Paradise stream was a considerable influencer for me, I was seriously considering a different solution.
Not saying I regret buying the ND5-XS, it's great but I'm disappointed and increasingly concerned it's taking so long to resolve this problem. I can only recall Natwest taking any longer to fix an IT related problem in recent years!
