Football Season 2014 - 2015

Posted by: Steve J on 18 May 2014

As requested here is the new season's thread.

Obviously the first picture has to be of the best team in the land winning 'last year's' Premier League title for the second time in 3 years.

At least the title stayed in Manchester Chris.

Well it sounds as if it was quite some game. Fulham coming back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 before Forest romped to a 5-3 win.  Not much consolation for Fulham fans or the hapless Magath who the Evening Standard said would get the chop if Fulham didn't win tonight but great entertainment.

Mista h ,

what a game !! sadly i didnt go in the end but obviously wish i had. I watched it online .

A game of three halves , Forest dominated the the first 20 mins or so , helped by Fulhams comedy defending which allowed Forest to pass the ball around and create the chances. Not sure it was a penalty to be honest .  The Goal from the free kick seemed to bring Fulham to life and ill admit were the better side for the next hour or so which left Forest playing long balls up front . Having been in the lower divisions for 17 years sadly  playing pretty football wont get you results every week.

I wasnt hopeful once it went to 3-2 but once it went to 3-3 i think the win was coming, Some good finishing from asombalonga was the difference..

ref Roberts looked good for the 10 mins he got , overall Fulham a bit unlucky if you can sort the defence out cant see you going down,, with or without mgoo in charge

Thanks for the report TWP

Just about sums up the useless git we have as a Manager. Roberts is only young, but even a blind man can see he is one of our best players........and what does Magoo do,he gives the kid 10 mins.

On television this evening watch ch 5 @ 9PM. The High court Sheriffs are out collecting unpaid debts. In my fab paper(DailyMail) it says they are after the Ex West ham player Neil Ruddock.

Mista H

Missed it - any good? Never rated Ruddock that much anyway.

See Fulham have put Kit Symons in charge, Mista H.  Had lost sight of where he was these days. He was good and very popular player at my club. Hope things work out for him.

SHMBO and myself have now got an empty shampoo bottle.

A friend rang me earlier to say a radio station have spoken to Danny Murphy. He has not been approached about the job but it looks like he would be very interested in it if asked. That would get my 100% backing, and i think would go down well with all Fulham supporters.

WATCH THIS SPACE.

Could be that Danny Murphy is Head & Shoulders above the rest.

Things are looking like a 2 horse race between Kit Symons & Danny Murphy.

If you go onto the FFC website MDS Symons has given his first interview and is very upbeat and full of `bounce` Only thing that worries me is he states he has spoken to` princess`,who might be playing tomorrow. Fingers crossed he is not that stupid.

Kevin 'Bubbles' W should be happy...

Posted on: 20 September 2014 by MDS

Yep. The Hammers looked worth the three points from what I saw of the game on TV. Big Sam out-thinking Brendon?

Posted on: 20 September 2014 by mista h

We lose again !! thats now 1 point from 24 Brill. Plus yet another strait RED for one of out donkeys, would not suprise me if the Blackburn player has a broken leg.

Sitting with us today in the stands amongst us great unwashed was Brede Hangeland who we kicked out the exit door at the end of last season. He has now signed for Palace so WTF was he doing in the stands with us ?

Just got back... and WOW - was that a first half performance, or was that a first half performance? We completely dominated, and the atmosphere was amazing. Hordes of happy Hammers around London tonight!

More than tactics, MDS. West Ham were, in the first half especially, just superb. That's two great performances on the trot, some fantastic buys in the transfer window... Hell, if this carries on, I might even start warming to Hippo Head.

I think that's fair Jamie.

What I loved about this was that we came straight out of the traps, the energy levels were super-high, we were really fast on the counter, there was lots of lovely inventive passing and movement. Haven't enjoyed a game this much since we tonked your mob 3-1 a couple of years ago.

....Meanwhile Sunderland remain ...well ,,Meh' .....just Meh' ..not awful - definitely not good ....just Meh' ..Gus really want's us to pass pass pass but that's a lot easier if you have a top 6 team's budget and a squad to do it (and are not asking players to live in the NE!) ....we have some good players but desperately need a genuine finisher ...pity super Kev wasn't 20 yrs younger!

Fulham fans: have you seen today's Guardian? An article entitled "Fulham say farewell to Magath and the crazy world of Felix the madcap." He really was bonkers.

I hadn't appreciated until today that you've now got Teddy S on the coaching staff. A brilliant football brain and intelligent. I've always thought he'd make a good coach. Perhaps that's why the Hammer's forwards are firing at last.

After yesterdays game i think the West Ham manager deserves a knighthood.

Sir Sam slurping post match vino with Sir Alex !!

Well what a stunning result. Man U twice leading by two goals and ending up losing 5-3. Well done the Foxes!  What is the difference in cost between those two teams?

Posted on: 21 September 2014 by MDS

Should have said well done to the Baggies, too, after winning at Spurs.

Very much looking forward to the Man City v Chelsea game later this afternoon. The two, and only two, proper title contenders going head-to-head. If Toure is still in a lazy mood as he was against Bayern during the week I think Chelsea will get a result.

Zabaleta off for second yellow and Chelsea strike just minutes later. Is this another Mourinho smash and grab job?
