Football Season 2014 - 2015

As requested here is the new season's thread.
Obviously the first picture has to be of the best team in the land winning 'last year's' Premier League title for the second time in 3 years.
At least the title stayed in Manchester Chris.

On the positive side in todays Daily Mail(top paper) your keeper has been quoted what i said yesterday, that either the club and/or the players should cough up the cash and repay the 2000 supporters who made the 650 mile round trip to Southampton. The guy has class and i think its the right thing to do.

PS....did you get stick at work today ?
Just been sent this e mail by a very close friend of mine(chelsea STH).......sorry Peter
I work in an office full of SAFC and (shudder) NUFC fans .not too mention some Hartlepool and Middlesbrough followers so you can imagine the sort of day we Mackems have had ....starting with being greeted by two (2 count em') boxes of After Eight mints on my desk this morning ...email notifications of The Samaritan's contact number (8-0 8-0 8-0 8-0) .... and numerous mentions of item 8 on this afternoon's meeting agenda ....sigh'
What goes around though........................
Having been disappointed at my lot losing again today, I must say - even though it hurts - aren't Soton doing well this season. I know some fans on here were fretting when some of the stars were sold pre-season but now the club sits in second place in the Premier League while presumably also sitting on a big pile of cash.
After todays result i wonder if Kevin is going to post ever again how he hates the West Ham manager. Its sat nite and my guess he is in some south London pub sinking a few pints.

I think Kevin's wondering how he arrived in Disneyland.

To be fair to me (which I always am, of course) I was just the same as everyone else who was complaining. Last season everyone was unhappy not because we finished 13th - which is absolutely fine for a team of our size - but because the quality of football served up, week in, week out, was dire: tedious, tactically inept, neanderthal. Witness the infamous home game against Hull last season - the team won, but was booed off the pitch by its own fans, such was the gruel served up that night.
Fat Sam was entirely to blame for this. Fans complaining about the football served up were perfectly entitled to do so - we pay hundreds of pounds (£650 in my case) and expect something in return: simple entertainment, for a start. Fortunately BFS and the Bongo Brothers have listened to the fans and we are in a prefect place - winning AND playing entertaining football and claiming a few big scalps on the way.
Know-nothing, "big four"-obsessed pundits like Shearer thought we couldn't do both but we obviously can. If BFS keeps this up then I'm sure most fans will be delighted if he stays next season and beyond.
I think Kevin's wondering how he arrived in Disneyland.
Wondering about something really extraordinary - being first on MOTD!
Shearer's a knob.
Shearer's a knob.
A complete and utter knob.
That was an uncharacteristic bit of ill-discipline from your mob there today J.
Well Newcastle has had something of a troubled start to the season but they thoroughly deserved their victory at Man City tonight. Knocking the holders out on their own ground is some scalp. What with their win at Spurs at the weekend, maybe Pardew will survive after all.

Just knew it was coming though
I saw today that Kit Symons has been permanently appointed to the Fulham job. Good luck to him. I hope he does well. Will be interested in MistaH's take on Fulham's seeming revival.
A point away at Stoke after having been 2-0 down?
Fat Sam out!
Just watched on Sky Spurs nick a victory at Villa. A bad-tempered and niggly game but Villa should count themselves unlucky. Spurs' equaliser was in part due to sloppy Villa marking but Kane's winner at the death from a free-kick took a big deflection to beat the keeper. Not sure Benteke's red card was justified either. On the basis of this performance I don't think Spurs will be troubling the big teams.

Do they ever?
Gotta say - well done Warrington last night! The romance of the FA Cup is not dead!
Out of the Champs League spots and below Man U. Just not good enough. Fat Sam out!
Terrific result for Palace this afternoon. They looked well worth their victory, particularly having to come back from one down. I suspect much of the media coverage will be about Liverpool's continued lack-lustre season when expectations at the start of the season were high, which is a pity as Palace deserve credit.
Spurs a bit fortunate to win at Hull this afternoon. The sending off for Hull was very, very harsh.
Villa v Saints tonight.
I notice in a Preview piece in today's i, Ally Mckay has written, "Saints endured massive upheaval during the summer as key players Lallana, Lambert, Shaw and Lovren left the club, along with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino. Despite this, they have climbed to second in the Prem under the stewardship of Koeman, with new recruits Pellè and Tadic making instant impressions".
I'm starting to think it's Because of this.
Chris
1-1
Seems that tonight, of all nights, we could have done with a late winner from Rickie. Baffled as to why Koeman put a playmaker like Jack Cork on in the 88th min....
C.
Do you mean Rickie "why did I leave" Lambert? Last seen warming the bench at some "mid-table" Premier club.
Dave
Ha. The very same. (He was good at those).

Well, Aguero got Man City out of jail this evening. Don't know how City allowed ten-man Bayern back into the game to lead but that man Aguero is very special.
