Football Season 2014 - 2015

As requested here is the new season's thread.
Obviously the first picture has to be of the best team in the land winning 'last year's' Premier League title for the second time in 3 years.
At least the title stayed in Manchester Chris.
Thanks to RVP but also to Southampton's attack.

Pelle got on the score sheet but the goals Saints gave away...............

Shambolic from Saints at Bramall Lane last night. Couple more losses and the papers will be asking, 'Is it kurtains for Koeman?' Got to feel for the fella though with the midfield either suspended or injured.

Err, a few defeats, yes, but still 5th in the PL. Koeman's more than safe. A finishing place anywhere in the top half ought to see him being awarded a medal.
^ Ha, agreed. Trouble is, Saints' next four games are at home to Everton, Palace (A), Chelsea (H) and Arsenal (H). On current form and with regular midfielders either suspended or injured, where are the points?

I reckon they will take four from that: one from Everton and three from Palace. I wouldn't put any money on the Gunners winning at St Mary's either.
Yeah, fair shout, I'm feeling better!

And after today's thumping of the Toffees I should imagine you're feeling ecstatic.
I hope Martinez watches this video of Charlie Nicholas comments on his team selections!

Perhaps Bill Kenwright could tempt back his erstwhile love from his sojourn at Real Sociedad
Yeah, fair shout, I'm feeling better!

Somewhat surprised but chuffed without a doubt. (And on a professional level too, good light, good weather, good wi-fi. And no eight hour round trip either).

After Palace's defeat at home to Soton yesterday Sky Sports are reporting this morning that Warnock has been sacked. Can't make sense of that decision. Who on earth does the Palace board think they can attract that is more likely to keep Palace up than 'moaner' Neil Warnock?
Tony Pulis
Tim Sherwood is bookies favourite, followed by Chris Houghton, Pulis is third.
Pulls reportedly got £1Million for keeping Palace up last Season, money talks so don't be surprised the Pulis returns :-)
Pulis was alleged to have left because the board wouldn't invest in the team so as to take it on beyond an annual relegation fight. Don't see that anything has changed on that front so why would Pulis now change his mind and go back? Can't see Sherwood or Houghton being able to fight a relegation battle better than Warnock. I fear this decision could have made Palace's chances of survival worse. As my local club I'd be sorry to see them go down.

I don't think that he will - but I think that it would be really funny if board did change policy to try to persuade Pulis back.
Got to be happy with a point against Chelsea at St Mary's today. Especially given the way I was feeling after driving home from Bramall Lane!
Only marred by those top class 'journos' Big Adam and Big Dave on Radio Solent continuing to pronounce Mané as Marn-ay . Oh, and Morgan being sent off again.
Chris
Chris - I expect that Morgan will be off for good soon
Just got back from the Spurs game - good first half but a let down after the break when tiredness was clearly a factor. Not a great idea to play Friday then Sunday imho.
Please by the fightback from the mighty Burnley though
Great spirit from Burnley
Morgan's passes, the tackles, the running, we need him. Off for good? Adopts best Ruth Archer tone: 'Oh no!'

Well, I predicted a minimum of four points from your next four games and you've got seven with the defensively fragile Gunners still to come. Guess the new year is looking rather good after all, eh, Chris?
Absolutely, thankfully you were right, I was wrong. My defence is that I watched them against Sheff U.

Well, we managed to get to Christmas without a Premier League manager losing his job, but now it seems as if the massacre of the managers has begun in earnest.
Who's next? Martinez? Saggy Chops? Pearson? Bruce?

I guess this is in part down to the character (sic) of the owner as much as league form. On that basis, I wouldn't be surprised to see Bruce chopped if Hull's current form continues. At the other end of the scale I would expect Martinez to be safe. Introducing a pleasing passing game to the Toffees after years and years of the well-organised, hard-working, high-tempo game that Moyes excelled at can't be easy or quickly achieved. But Bill Kenwright seems a genuine football man who understands the benefit of stability.
Spurs 5 - 3 Chelsea
Well, I wasn't expecting that! But I/m very happy with it.
