Football Season 2014 - 2015

Posted by: Steve J on 18 May 2014

As requested here is the new season's thread.

Obviously the first picture has to be of the best team in the land winning 'last year's' Premier League title for the second time in 3 years.

At least the title stayed in Manchester Chris.

Liverpool made a bid for Southampton City centre yesterday.

^ As I said, wouldn't it just've been easier to swap managers?!

Whats the odds on Southampton going down?

Still a few weeks before the transfer window closes so time yet for Koeman to bring in more players. At the moment a top ten finish looks ambitious but Soton still look too strong to worry about a relegation fight, and I say that as a Pompey fan!

I think the 3 that came up will go straight back down again, unless they can splash the cash and bring in several Quality players. The gap between the prem and the chumpionship is quite large. When we got promoted 13 years ago its the first thing i noticed, its like day & night.

The word is that the only reason Liverpool didn't sign Remy was because they found out he wasn't a Saint.

Telegraph online are saying Chambers has signed for Gunners (in the headline), and then "are poised to pay" £16m (in the first par).

What's frightening me is that as it stands, the team that started against Bournemouth on Friday night, is pretty much the one that will start at Anfield on the first day of the season. It could be just like watching Brazil.

Well, looking at our woeful performance pre-season (and I see Fatty is getting his excuses in early), I think we [WHU] may be joining them...

Dead cert, I'd say.  Morgan will be the next to go, Jose will follow (who wouldn't for "nearly double his current salary").And I expect that the club will be sold during the coming season. What's happening now used to be called "asset stripping"; these days it's "leveraging synergies".

And according to the BBC website.Morgan Rodriguez are off to Spuds,

But don't worry, Les says we can do it all with the youngsters.

I had to decide on how to spend this years bonus....S/T to watch a div 2 bound team, or a Supercap......

guess I made the right choice.

So Mr. Kroeger has come out and said that Jay & Morgan will not be sold.....but that selling  Rickie, Adam, Luke, Callum and Declan was "part of the plan"........

WTF sort of plan is sacking your chairman/CEO, which triggered the resignation of your team manager, and then selling your best players?

Now Morgan appears to have had a Twitter rant against Kruger and the board over Kruger's 'will not be sold' remarks.

You mean like a certain other local club that was bought by an "oil sheik" who didn't actually own any oil wells?

Posted on: 30 July 2014 by mista h

You can always fall back on plan B Mista Mole.

Get your Boss at work to give you a BIGGER bonus, then you can have your Supacap AND your S/T.

There two sheiks: one didn't have any money, just an appetite for publicity, the second was never seen and I'm not even sure really existed!

unfortunately I'm an engineer not a banker, and our annual bonus is barely adequate for a secondhand Hicap. And my boss is spending his on a new turbo for his Jag!

And anyway, on the list is a 82 or 52, active SBLs, not to mention multitudinous upgrades to an LP12.......and they'll all probably be longer lasting than SFC's run in the Prem

Posted on: 30 July 2014 by Christopher_M

^  than SFC's *current* run in the Prem? Or the previous one?

As I recall, the previous run in the top division was 26-27 years (I watched them go up, and I watched them go down). my oldest bit of Naim kit (apart from my still-in-use NACA4) is 1994 vintage.

Wont mention names but just saw this on an Unofficial FFC Website.

Adam!spot on mate.Glad you mentioned the Saints saga,I just dont understand what is going on there, they are owned by one of Europe,s richest families yet they cant offer their players a deal to match the likes of Liverpool or spurs.Had they have kept those top players I would have tipped them to be a top 4 team, crazy
