Football Season 2014 - 2015
Posted by: Steve J on 18 May 2014
As requested here is the new season's thread.
Obviously the first picture has to be of the best team in the land winning 'last year's' Premier League title for the second time in 3 years.
At least the title stayed in Manchester Chris.
last result Mista Mole is plan C.......Get Mrs Mole a full time job....problem solved.

I see 'Vanishing Spray' is being used in the Premiership next season after it's successful use in the World Cup. I think Southampton have been using it in the preseason.
I think the Steelers will do well
You guys were talking about football, right?
NACA4 is 1994 vintage.
The title says this is about football. I'm looking for the Seahawks to repeat. And NCAA is embedded in Mr Mole's response, so I'll also say that I'm also expecting national title aspirations for the Buckeyes .
Trust you Yanks to try and take over this thread. First Iraq and now the forum.

Done (with full credit for Steve J). It even made me laugh.
Thanks. I saw the announcement about vanishing spray on the Sky Sports app and I immediately thought of Southampton.

It's cruel to mock the afflicted...........

Watched Liverpool beat Man City on PKs in a very enjoyable preseason game last night. Both teams played regular season starters for at least 45 minutes, and surprisingly, both teams played very hard, and went for the win. There's some money in this preseason Guinness Cup, but I think the level of play was probably more related to both teams knowing they'll face each other again in just a few short weeks, when it really counts.
Both teams have a lot of depth. Liverpool seems to have done pretty well with the Suarez money. Good thing, as they'll need more players to have any chance of competing in the Champions League. Sterling looked in top form, and appears ready to have a big season. Emre Can, who came from Bayer Leverkusen, looked very strong, and Jose Enrique now appears to have fully recovered from injury.
The most interesting player on the field for MC was a 17 year old Nigerian, Kelechi Iheanacho. This kid has some serious ball skills, and was cool as a cucumber during his PK. Too early to make comparisons to Neymar, but that's who he reminded me of. Given his age, talk is that he'll be loaned out this year, but he'll be fun to watch wherever he goes.
Also caught parts of Man U versus Inter Milan a couple of nights ago, and LVG does appear to have already made a positive impact. I was once again surprised to see a high level of effort and intensity for a preseason match, and I think this bodes well for them.

Football certainly stirs a Yank's red blood. Just a disappointment to read it's really a post about soccer .

Yes, the men here in the US play football with balls pointed on either end. Never can tell which way it's going to bounce .
On the other hand, soccer is played by men, women, and children, round balls or not. But football is only played by men .

The Jaguars are a recent addition to the NFL (1995) and were a decent team with their original owner, qualifying for playoffs on six occasions. Since Shahid Khan bought the team after the 2011 season, they have won 6 out of 32 games. Dismal for the NFL, but depending on the score and who they beat, it could still qualify them for World Cup play .
Greatly encouraged by Saints' performance at Brighton last night. Thank heavens we have Koeman. He may not yet have the flair players he wants. Those he has are at least well drilled.

Don't you mean Liverhampton?

No - Scousehampton

...but they will only enter the field of play if they have body armour comparable to what a US marine would expect to be equipped with going into combat
...and have to stop every few seconds for a rest
