Football Season 2014 - 2015

Posted by: Steve J on 18 May 2014

As requested here is the new season's thread.

Obviously the first picture has to be of the best team in the land winning 'last year's' Premier League title for the second time in 3 years.

At least the title stayed in Manchester Chris.

Despite the recent negative media attention SFC have been attracting they are top of the pre-season Premier League table, despite selling top players, and have won more games, 5/5, than any other Premier League club.

You'll probably be able to keep hold of the cows in the January transfer frenzy. If they'd signed for us they'd be off to Liverhampton or Sarsernal.

I was trying to think about something nice to say about FFC, like how great Pajtim Kasami's goal versus CP was...but now I read that he has left to join Olympiacos.  Oh well, never mind.

Just watched Man U easily handle Real Madrid, 3-1, in front of a record-setting crowd of 109,000+ at the University of Michigan's "Big House" stadium. Once again, Man U looked very impressive, very 2012-ish.

I was at the palace game when he scored, yes it was a wonder goal but thats about all he did all season. The guy was not of premiership quality so no great loss as far as i am concerned.

That said i watched them in a PSF down at Crawley a few weeks back and TBH the way we played that day i would be quite happy to stick those 3 cows in our starting eleven next week away to Ipswich.

Those 3 cows are probably worth more than some of our players,so i think we will be holding onto them thank you very much.

Well, while you Premiership club followers have a little longer to wait, the start of the football league is here.  Indeed Blackburn and Cardiff kicked it off tonight with a 1-1 draw. Must confess I'm quite excited. Not the most glamorous of opening fixtures for my lot - away to Exeter - but hope springs eternal for us all as the first game of the season approaches. PUP.

But very few people remember the result of the Community/Charity Shield, do they Steve? When there's 3 points to play for it's serious!

Posted on: 08 August 2014 by Steve J

I can't remember many results in last years Championship.

Mr Mole are you there? I did a job at the Ageas today, and blow me if there wasn't one of your vans in the car park, near me!

^   Then you'll be wanting the return of five-a-sides from the Empire Pool, Wembley, on Wednesday nights. Oh, and Superstars, with Kevin Keegan, David Hemery, Gareth Edwards, Andy Ripley and Brian Jacks

Cheers,

Chris

Ah, that at least explains the puzzled but courteous answers from the 'resting' van driver, a white van which had your avatar on the side and read something like 'Mr Mole's drainage services, SE England'

Bournemouth did well yesterday.

Saving some money today - as I normally go to the Community Shield match - will probably put it towards Fraim glass and balls

Didn't they, just. I've been impressed with Eddie Howe as a manager and he deserves some success after his playing days were cut short through knee injury. Nice to see Bournemouth doing well. Always had a soft spot for them.

Thought Wordsworth should have made it 3-0 and we might have had a penalty (we usually miss those anyway). Apart from Dean's fumble and the own goal we didn't look like conceding, which makes a change.

Think Fulham will find it hard with that manager, he seems too focused on possession rather than creating anything in the last third. That said, Sean Parker looked class and the young players showed promise, but the defenders and goalkeeper looked vulnerable every time we attacked.  I'm sure Fulham will get the hang of the Championship,

As for the Tractor Boys, we need to be a bit more clinical, but Mick is getting the best out of the players and the style of play looks good. Hope we can keep it going.

Hello Wat

We got what we deserved yesterday........An Essex Mansion. The quicker our new owner sticks a P45 in mista McGoo`s grubby hand the better as the guy has not got a clue on what players to buy or how to pick a football team.

The highlight of the day for us was sitting outside the Marina cafe watching a middle aged couple in a Jag get nicked by the police with an ANPR camera car for no insurance. They were told to walk away and 10 mins later a tow truck lifted their car.

Your goalkeeper needs to improve his kicking in the short term. We knew if a long ball went through to him, we'd always get it straight back.

Still it is only reiterating what you saud all last season.

I hope you have a good season and can sort things out. I really liked your young 17 year old sub and, from our perspective, was relieved he only got a cameo near the end.

All the best, Wat

You are `bang on` with your post wat and you could see what was going on. Snotty Parker was our best player, but he is now 33 and struggles to do 90 mins. As for our 17 year old Patrick Roberts the kid is class(well spotted) BUT what does our stupid clown of a Manager do.....he sticks him on when the game is almost over, clever eh. Last season we did most away games, but if yesterday is anything to go on that is going to change with a big reduction in our travels.
